Impinda centering

Good decision! I'm a little confused as to your statement about "an extra 10 or 20", though. As far as I know, the only cost would be for postage as as far as I am aware, the following policy (from their site) still exists. I'd be interested to know if that is no longer factual.

"Sending your knife to Chris Reeve Knives
As part of your warranty will always clean, tune and sharpen your CRK folder and sharpen your CRK fixed blade at no charge.
Your only cost is the return shipping fee (minimum $15 in CONUS). If a knife has been modified outside our workshop, your warranty may be void."

By the extra 10 or 20 I am referring to people selling their CRK knives on the secondary. Many times I see that a knife for sale is fresh from the spa, meaning that they did not send it in for their own personal enjoyment, but to hopefully get a higher price when they sell.

To be fair, if I'm selling a decently used knife I'll send it to the spa for a once over, new washers, new lugs (typically double), sandblast the handles, before selling it. Not for extra money, but so that the person who's buying it doesn't have to wait 4-6 weeks and spend $25-40 between shipping there and back, new lugs, misc. parts, etc. I don't think that “spa service as a way to increase value” is really a thing, or at least it's putting a lot less value into the knife than is being realized.

I've also requested new (used) knives be sent directly to CRK for new lugs, blasting, etc.

Update!

Again, the only reason I brought this up in the forum is because I hoped there might be some centering trick I wasn't aware of for this knife. Most problems I would take up with the manufacturer before making them public. That being said, I am very pleased with CRK service.

My knife is back in my hands three weeks after sending it in. It recieved the full spa treatment and went through their centering process. I'm glad I sent it in, because I am extremely pleased with the results.

Probably the first thing to do vs public. Glad it's taken care of.
