Import Tariff Info Thread

One more post this morning about the tariff situation . And again I'll say ,this is my personal experience . No telling how yours will go & that's just one more floating variable IMO

I recently received a box of knives & when it crossed into the USA , I got an email from Fed Ex with tracking with absolutely no mention of US customs ,at all.
The sender stating " all tariffs paid up " . So I sit & wait for a bill ,maybe it'll come ( of course I don't want that ) ,maybe it won't .
I will update at some point . The not knowing stinks !

Since there was no mention of customs ,possibly the tariff was paid & paid properly ?? Who knows .

The only time I’ve ever been hit with import fees was for motorcycle parts from England. Have no idea how or why some things are figured.

Oh, and a watch from Portugal once. . .

Everything that you receive via USPS - tariffs will be paid for by the sender, at this point usps does not accept packages that don’t have the tariffs paid. Anything that you receive via courier service like UPS or DHL - tariffs can be paid by the sender - DDP (delivered duty paid) , but also can be DAP (delivered at place) so be sure to check that with the seller.
Hope this helps :)

After recently ordering and paying for gun parts from a Canadian company, I received an invoice from the company for a 35% tariff charge that had to be paid before the items shipped. I paid it.

I bought some knife scales from Germany. The invoice said that I would have to pay “Import Fees” upon delivery.

The mailman only took my signature, handed me the package, and walked away. He never mentioned any fees and neither did I.
I’m a mailman… we don’t collect anything except “postage due”. Once in my 35 year career I had a C.O.D., but that’s before online payments were a thing.
