Due to circumstances beyond our control (Drunken Operator Error) the Busse Basic 6 blanks were mistakenly surface ground to a thickness of approx. .218" thick! . . . .

Apparently our work sheet said to grind them to a .248" -.250" thickness but the printing on the shop copy was a bit light and our operator thought it said .218" - .220". (Yeah, I'm pretty sure that he was drunk!)

This has put us into quite a tailspin here as we do not have standard handles that will fit this thickness. So, we are having handles specially made that will accomodate these much thinner blades.

This will ultimately make the Basic 6 much lighter, a much better slicer and will most likely make them much more collectible.

For those of you who chose not to go with a Basic 6 due to its full 1/4" thickness and to those who missed out on the Basic 6, you may want to email Amy at amy@bussecombat.com to get put on a waiting list as there may be some cancellations due to this faux pas.

These will begin shipping by the end of next week.

Congrats to those who scored these unique blades!!!!

Let's Drink!!! . . . .

Even Jerry's screw-ups are genius!

Infi at .220 is still tougher than I will ever need it to be and will prove to be a better slicer... Wish I could afford another.

Can you inscribe "drunken operator" LE?

-Still excited about getting mine regardless<edit>

Now I am even more sad I can't afford one!!!!

Oh well, I guess I will have to get my Sarq, Muckle, CABS, B11, KZII and BAD out tonight so they can comfort me.

Honestly, whenever I'm tempted to jump on a new Busse I always go and handle the ones I own - this really seems to keep the disease at bay... I'm serious.

What a fortunate accident!

Jerry... were you the operator?

PS. D.O.E. is now going in my vocabulary, and sure to be used this weekend.

Just when I think you can't get any Dummer, You do something like this & ...........................Totally redeem yourself :)

Excellent - I like them even better at .22 - As someone already pointed out:

I did order another I decided to go for 2 when I sent my original email order.

It's still INFI, can't go wrong with that. And if it's a Busse, it's going to be great! But come on, we all know the rules, Pictures or it didn't happen! =)

So....does this mean that none will be made at the full .25" or is just the first batch that will be thinner? I was looking forward to the full thickness.

Actually my preference on a 6" blade. Serendipity, baby!

Jerry, instead of making different handles, how about some INFI shims. Leave enough hanging out the front to grab so I can tell everyone that it's an INFI toothpick.
