at 6", it was never going to be much of a chopper anyways. I like the extra weight reduction.

Just make sure that drunken operator doesn't mess up the 10" Basic, as that one needs to be thicker since it will be a chopper.
 
So what's the new handle going to be like? Similar to existing one, or completely new?
 
I'm just curious - aside from the novelty in the world of Busse, does a .03" reduction in blade thickness really change performance or feel much in a 6" blade??
 
It should be a few ounces less. When you arent dealin with an abundance of OZ's to start with, a cpl can really create a different in hand feel. And the man himself said it will slice better, I wont argue with him.

It looks identical to the Scrap Yard 511 handle to me which is on the small side. Canceled my two Basic 6's

it does look like one of the smaller handles, I would have thought it would have had the same size handle as the Scrapper 6/Camp tramp (larger ones)
 
I thinks the Basic 6 needs to have a bigger handle than the SYKCO 511; the handle on the 511 does seem small to me and I don't have huge hands. I can only imagine what it feels like for guys with big paws. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it ends up on the Basic 6, but I sure hope it feels better than the 511.

Since the B6 was a one-time run, I doubt there will be any full thickness B6s available, unless you can get the prototype that was at Blade.

the more I look at that picture the more the B6 handles look bigger (could be wishful thinking) but I too am hoping
 
The Basic 6 handle at Blade was definately bigger than the 511 handle. The 511 handle is a yardkeeper/dumpster mutt size and the Basic 6 is the Scrapper 6 size. FYI. Sorry what I think is my poor picture above doesn't show difference. The Basic 4 handle is even bigger than 511 because it uses the new War Dog handle. Now what the handle will be for this new Anorexic Basic 6? WHO KNOWS!

Is the Basic 6 grip thicker? Cant really see that dimension of it. Length and height look really close. Your pic and you were there, have to go with what you say man :thumbup:

The Basic 6 will have the exact same handle that it was going to have, it will just have a thinner slot in it where the tang will slide in. . . these are being made specifically for the Basic 6 to ensure a tight, waterproof seal around the tang.

The basic 6 handle (Bottom of pic) has the LARGE handle like the Dog Father. The 511 (Top of pic) has the much smaller handle.

Here's an exact comparison between the 2 handles.

Don't cancel for that reason my friend. . . .

It only looks similar in size because of the angle that the pic was taken at. . . (See my previous post with comparison pic)
