And we haven't even told yall about the .22 survial rifle thingy we're working on. Yet another collaboration of our ideas mixed with a small manufacturers ideas.

What the world needs it another run of the Springfield Armory M6 Scout in .410/.22 LR. :D

People are still crapping themselves over the name change which is creeping up on 1 year ago!

And I think that's hilarious how someone can get so involved that they worry about what a logo or name looks like rather than whet the actual tool is

I had hoped the Laser Strike would come back. One of the best all around knives I ever owned

do something that's more important than worrying about whether ESEE is having sex with its partners.

there's something horrific about that statement - and I really don't want to know which of you was on top and who was pouring the jello shots.
I just want another barrel of industrial grade mind bleach.

I just want to say that I have yet to meet someone that has only one knife. As I mentioned on the DPxGear forum I have known Jeff for ten years. When I first met him in Peru we talked about doing some gear together. A few days later I was hit head on by a car ...I shoulda listened :))
We finally got together a couple of years ago to make my DPx HEST fixed blade and the DPx HEST/F folder. I think the products speak for themselves.

I focus on my work in combat zones like Somalia, Burma, Afghanistan, Iraq etc and the gear that works well there. Jeff has his niche nailed and makes the right products. So its a natural evolution as we are expanding dramatically in 2011 with a number of new products and bringing a new brand to market. We will be designing manufacturing and bringing to market probably the most well known, most controversial, hard core tactical brand in the world. Exciting, busy times ahead.

So as the year draws to a close and the winter snows descend it makes sense for us both to saddle up and head our separate ways As Jeff mentioned we have the same core values but very different directions.

I hate it when you tease us like that. I really, really want to know more but I'm sure you'll just keep torturing us for months. ;)

thank you for informing us all, appreciated. It seems like you will be friends forever so that is a great thing.

In the end it is business, your business, which to be honest is not ours to question imo. Best of luck to both companies and I will continue to support both where and when I can.

Something that is chambered slightly larger than .22 would be great. Possibly something in the .224 or .243 caliber. .22 are limited in distance and size of animal but .224 and .243 are realistic hunting cartridges. They would even work on the small critters.

We absolutely have but some people just get way too confortable and scared shitless of change that they totaly freak out when we take a different path.

All I can say is if they can't handle this small diversion with the separation of DPx and ESEE then they will probably commit suicide in the future when we make changes.

As for dealers, someone on the DPx forum was bitching about a dealer being pissed off. That's probably one of the same dealers that's still selling under the RAT Cutlery name after we have told them a million times to change it to ESEE. In short, if customers and dealers can't deal with changes and a fluid market state, then they do not need to deal with ESEE. We DO NOT do things within the industry norm. Basiclaly we could give the first damn about the industry norm. We do things our own way and if someone doesn't like it then buy your stuff from someone else. We set the mark on some things and simply refuse to follow others because "that's the way it's suppose to be done." So, anyone that doesn't like our recent decision, find somewhere else to bitch.

Glad to see that this has been handled well & I wish both companies the best!

Just to state my position publicly as a dealer... This type of thing happens regularly in business & usually ends up opening up new opportunities for the involved businesses which creates a better situation for the consumer. From what I have learned about this business change, I feel that some very positive things can/will happen. I am sure that things will settle out & everything will be fine.

Thanks to ESEE Knives & DPx for the fine products that they offer!

The .22 LR will work just fine. No need to church it up. There isn't anything on our continent that hasn't been killed with a .22 LR.

This makes a lot of sense to me, ESEE has always been more of a simple no frills tool philosophy while DPX has seemed to be about creating great tools with lots of features to use in extreme environments. So to me it is completely understandable. I am VERY excited about the reintroduction of the Laser Strike, I hope I will be able to get my hands on one to test out during my 6 month trip into the wilderness.

Thanks for the update Jeff. Best of luck to all involved!

Really can't wait to see the Laser Strike. Been looking forward to that one. The survival .22 sounds pretty cool as well. Onward!
