IMPORTANT! info about the RC-5

I see. I wasnt sure if you made the knives there and/or held classes for your survival school there too. My boss wouldn't grant me a Peru trip milage pass.

Quit. How the hell needs steady income anyway? Bills are a hornswoggle. You don't really have to pay them. :D

Thanks for the info Jeff. It makes me feel good to support a company that is so upright and honorable in business dealings.

I will second that sentiment. This RC 3 will be my first but after reading some of the post about your honest and fair dealings with your customers, friends and competitors, I am proud to support such a company.

Honesty and a superior product...that's why I joined the RAT Pack tonight. Now the wait begins for the arrival of my RC-4 and 6.

Here's the latest information about RC5. We have knives on the shelf. We have no sheaths. We have no sheaths because an individual at our vendor, Eagle Industires, waited 4 weeks then informed us she hadn't enetered our order for new sheaths due to neglect basically. So I have been working with a different individual at Eagle to see if we can speed this process up now that we are in week 5 of a 4-6 week lead time of an order. To complicate this matter Eagle was just bought out by a large defense contractor and all the higher ups will not return any calls because they are in meetings all day, day after day. Welcome to my world:)

Now before you draw the conclusion that I am simply trying to make excuses and pass the buck about back orders on our RC5 please consider who we are talking about here-- Eagle Industries. A rock steady U.S. company that is super respected in the industry. We never saw this problem coming before last Friday, APril 17. I have been going non stop since then trying to get the folks there that can possibly help us expedite the resolution to this problem and they absolutely will not return calls. I have one lady there who has been trying to help us and even she has been hard pressed to get things moving. I hope to have better and more definite news for you in the next two days. I sincerely apologize for this delay on shipping product. Mike

Delays are just the name of the game in manufacturing.

Thanks for the updated info Mike and try not to get too stressed.

Thanks for the heads up, Mike! I guess it's just par for the course, right! :D

Thanks for letting everyone know. I was lucky enough to get mine with a tan sheath, but I know there are other guys ready and waiting.

For those of you waiting for one of these monsters, let me assure you that the RC-5 is WELL WORTH THE WAIT! You will not be disappointed in this knife, and the sheath IS first class!

Just like Mike and Jeff - First Class all the way! Didya ever expect anything less from them?

Any chance of a Rowen made RC-5 Kydex sheath to help fill the gap?

;-)

ok, how about injection molded?

Eagle is shipping us sheaths by second week of May and we can ship RC5 knives then. They are squeezing all the work hours out they can to get our sheaths to us and we appreciate it. You should see dealers restocking the RC5 by third week of May and on. Mike

Thanks for the update Mike. We are eagerly waiting for the rest of our order. From the knives that came in (and back out) so far the RC-5 is worth the wait.

This is a rock solid knife and we're proud to stock it.

Thanks for the update Mike. I am looking forward to getting those great knives in stock!

Im not that familiar with RAT Cutlery, I just registered after I purchased a RAT RC5 sight unseen on the recommendation of web-friends on another forum. I'm very pleased with my knife and joined here to learn about the knife and hopefully some particulars, best angle to sharpen, that sort of thing. Instead I find this thread.
I would like to say this...
You never have to question the integrity of the knife when the integrity of the man that made it is impeccable.
This is the most awesome blade I have ever owned. If I had designed my own survival knife it would be almost identical, only almost because you thought of things I wouldn't.
Thank you to everyone at RAT Cutlery.
