Interesting stone. I'd wondered to what you were referring, in describing that earlier. I don't recall seeing such a stone in Norton's India line either.

They do make an India gouge stone for larger gouges, it's a cone shaped stone with a convex and concave side. I think they have changed shape through the years.

Yes, they make India slip stones, but what I am talking about is the grooved stone like the one at top in this photo.

Ah, that makes sense. I wasn't aware of those. I don't do wood working, but do sharpen hobby blades. Thanks.
