Impressions of a Squirt. Update at one month.

How would you clamp bolts with a Micra?

With the knife in the closed position, grab the bolt with the insides of the handles..... your hand pressure on the handles is required to keep the tool tight on the head..... since the scissors may be in the way, it won't work on everything.... but can help grip a bolt in a pinch.

So where are you sitting with it today Carl? I put a micra in my pocket for quite awhile and can't decide if I should try the squirt.... I think the pliers might be useful..... but I could also just clamp some bolts with the micra..... The ES4 might work for me too. The tip of that wire strippers is a plier and might handle small tasks, I'd use it for.... hmm.

Just got back from 4 days in Americus, Georgia, seeing some family of Karen's. Left home with the Squirt for the most bang of the buck being away from home. The micra is a nicer tool, but the squirt does have more bang for the buck. With senior citizen arthritis in some finger joints, the pliers come in handy for gripping or twisting actions, and the little scissors are very sharp. Can do beard and mustache trimming duty away from home and regular clippers!:D

And I am coming to like very much the chisel grind blades. Very easy to touch up on the go, and the package being opened doesn't know the difference if it's a right hand or left hand grind. Only mattes that it's sharp and goes through the wrapper.

Thanks for the update, Carl. More helpful data to inform my purchase/use decisions!:D

I put the micra on a keychain this week and I'm really liking it there, but I could seriously use pliers and scissors. I needed to change out one of the small fuses in the sled and those things don't come out easy and they are hard to grip.

Trust me Woodrow, it ain't gonna get better. As a senior citizen, I find the case of 'fumble fingers' getting worse. Very small objects are getting hard to grip, and I find a small folding pliers in a pocket a very very very handy thing to have. I would not have admitted this ten years ago, but facts are facts. As we age, things change, and we have to change some of our view points. I was Leatherman's lost man, and never saw the need for a multitool. But things change. And we have to change with them. Heck, I shoot a Glock now in place of my old Smith and Wesson revolver.

I like the small Leatherman like the squirt. Lots of bang for the buck there!!:thumbup:

I might have to obtain one...... I'm also planning on obtaining a Glock (19 or 26) in the near future, but I don't see it replacing a 5 shot snub as a regular carry. It's just too easy to carry those snubs. Which Glock are you carrying?

The little 26. NOt quite as small as the J frames, but still jacket pocket size.
