In Colorado and want to carry a Buck 110.

I have a friend in CO, buck knives are cool. I'll have to try a 110.

I carried a Buck 422 on my belt for several years. I think it was the Bucklight (Plastic handled) version of the 112. It was a handy size and did everything I ever asked of it. I still have it, but rarely carry a knife on my belt anymore (city living.) I think you'll totally enjoy your 112.

The Buck 110 and 112 is awesome! Definitely worth getting it. You say you are on a budget so I listed some knives that can be bought NEW for under $50.

For these knives that are under $50, you can own a plethora of different blade steels, blade shapes, blade sizes, handle materials, etc. in no time.

Spyderco Ladybug - Vg-10 steel - FRN Handles - Seki City Japan

Spyderco Cat - CTS-BD1 steel - G10 Handles - Taiwan

Spyderco Efficient - 8Cr13MoV steel - G10 Handles - China

Buck 119 Special - 420HC steel - Phenolic Handles - USA

Buck 110 , Buck 55, Ontario Rat 1, Ontario Rat 2, Spyderco Tenacious (ambitious, persistence), Morakniv Classic #1, #2, and my favorite #3, Opinel (#6 and #8)

Today's carry here in Colorado, the Buck 110 LT. Well, most of the day, anyway. I had to pocket a SOG Paratool for part of the day.

I might get my Buck family together for a picture this week.

Hi guys! :]

I live in Denver, and Colorado has the 3 1/2 inch blade rule. I am pretty sure the Buck 110 Folding Hunter is just a tad longer than that and I want to carry one around, all the time, forever and ever, because I love it so much and I love it, did I mention I love it? What would your suggestions be? Carry it around and risk the consequences? Do you think people would actually care? I think it is just a hair longer; I forget the specific blade dimensions. Also, I am brand new to knives, I know nothing. So if this question is really dumb, I sincerely apologize! ;]

Thanks a bunch! ^_^

Sometimes you have to render unto Cesar what is Cesar's & this is one of those times. Probably nothing will happen but should a LEO take a dislike to you, you can be arrested & wind up with a record that could complicate your life in any number of ways. This is not to mention the paranoia of carrying an illegal weapon. I suggest you do the unthinkable and get a used Buck 110 & go to a knife maker or good welder & have him grind down the knife 1/2 inch. I will now commit the ultimate heresy & recommend that he put on a small thumb stud for one handed opening. Then all you have to do is sharpen it, then hone it on a piece of leather with some jewelers rouge & finally polish it till it gleams. Just don't show a photo on the Buck Forums. They will stone you. LOL

Actually, I was thinking the same thing. If you prefer the 110's handle length and weight, have someone shorten the blade to just under 3.5" and turn it into a Buck 110 "Denver Special". Or rescue a 110 from eBay that has a broken tip and have it reground like this guy did...

I've had a Buck 112 for 25 years. I prefer it to the 110 due to its slightly smaller size. For my uses it is fine, as I use fixed blades for hunting, fishing, and most outdoor functions anyway.

Hey Sparkly Galaxy I have a Buck 110 that should be legal in Denver, I carried it over 20 years and from being sharpened many times it is less than 3 1/2 inches long. I used it as an EDC and also to skin and process hundreds of deer but still works well and is sharp but not very pretty. If you would like it I will send it to you at no cost. I have not carried it in almost 20 years and I have no children to pass it on to so if your want it send me your address. My Email is (removed).
