In praise of the Endura.

It's my favorite larger Spyderco. I find that the FFG blade geometry is really something special, a perfect balance between slicing ability and strength.

i've got a bunch. Love em all. The Endura, Stretch, Para and the Military fight for pocket time. I have been having a hard time kicking the Hap 40 Endura out. Great knives as are all the Spydercos I own. Bless Sal and his foresight into what makes a superlative knife. Spydercos are the only production knives I buy.

I also bought my first Spyderco, an Endura, in the early 90's from the base PX and pretty much carried it daily for the next 10 years. It's what got me into appreciating a good knife. I'm currently excited about the new Opus model coming out. I see it as an improved Endura. I'm a bigger fan of liner locks than I am frame locks.

Well, since this thread is nearly as old as I am I might as well chime in. The Endura is my favorite larger Spyderco. I prefer it to the PM2 (which I do like) and often to the Military. It is my go to knife when out walking for exercise. It drops right down in my pocket and rides there like it was made for my pocket. I like the slender blade shape much better than some of these overly wide blades that are being made now. Love this knife.

Well I ordered a blue Endura today. It should be in my hands late tomorrow. I am anxious to try it out.

Thanks David, I will jump over to the other thread. My blue Endura arrived today. Wow, what a crafted piece of slicing it is. It is now my largest folder with a pocket clip. I can see it will get plenty of pocket time. Impressive proportions but yet so slim and pocketable.
