You can keep that snow all to yourselves:thumbup::thumbup:

WE DO NOT WANT ANY OF IT!!!!!:):)

That is all...carry on..errrr shovel on:D

Be safe everyone,

Who shovels snow, I wait for my Buddy to come over and plow me out, too much driveway and when the plows come down the old country road they jut throw an 8 ' wall of snow back into the driveway.

I don't do shovelin'. ;)

Also I figure if the Big Guy upstairs want's ta put 18" of snow in NEPA than he can git rid of it when he's ready.

(more cam phone pics) 2nd attempt it drove right out of the hedge row...

Hummer Redemption:)

Its not pretty. Its not happy. So I refuse to take a pic.

We didn't get hammered as hard as most. Officially 9.5" from the double-whammy. But that was on top of . . . maybe 20-24" on the ground already.

Think of what our snowbanks look like. It sucks.

More snow on Saturday. And more on Tuesday. And no warm temps in sight. That's the kicker. I could handle all this snow if it would JUST GO AWAY between storms. Total YTD is about 53" or so. About a foot or so over normal for a YEAR. It can stop now. We got a good January of snow last year, too, IIRC. Then it stopped and just rained. I like rain. I could take a bit more of that.

Ice skating for hte kids sucks, too. The first storm to hit was a wet melt/sticker so the ponds are covered in that bumpy crap. That was around the Solstice so we've had snow on the ground for over a MONTH now.

GO AWAY! MUK!!!!!!

I see global warming is at work again. :D

Maybe somewhere... lmao

Driveway's about half done and I'm whupped. This is some of the heaviest white PITA I've ever dealt with. :grumpy::yawn: ...Forget the dang sidewalks, that isht ain't happening! Too deep, thanxx to the plows. Plow wall? 4.5-5 ft. and at least the same +2 more in width. Burned almost a tankful of gas through the blower just to break through it at the driveway... grrrrr!!!

I just wanna say...

FRAK SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (insert 27 banned smilies here}

That is all... Carry on!

:yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn:

Yep, we got hit in Penn's woods again!
Nothing quite like last year's back to back 2 footers, but I'm looking at about 15 inches of fresh snow from the two snowfalls in the last 24 hours, with a fairly thick layer of sleet in between. I decided to get up early...well, early for me...to get a jump on clearing this white stuff, but the snowplows haven't made it to my 'hood yet and still haven't made an appearance as I post this over 2 hours later...so instead I figured I'd post up the pix I shot while waiting.

Beautiful! :) ...But it's gonna be a PITA to dig out from!!! :grumpy:

Yeah I hear ya! I too live in PA, in the suburbs of Philly (Bucks county), and the snow this past couple of years has been insane! I don't remember ever having this much snow in previous winters (except maybe '95/'96).

Shoveling it out was a b**ch. I've got a lot of sidewalk, and the cars are parked on the street, so I have to shovel all around the cars so that they can get out. AND I had to shovel most of the street because the plows do a terrible job. AND ON TOP OF THAT, I have to shovel my neighbor's sidewalk and driveway because she is very old, but I'm not resentful about that.

But, I did have some fun today. I built a pretty badass igloo today! I think I might take some pictures of it tomorrow with some Busses stuck in it and make a separate thread.

I started out just building it for the young ones to play with, but I ended spending WAY more time on it then I expected and get way too into it. By 3:00 pm I was dead set on making an amazing, livable igloo.

So now I've got a 6 ft tall eskimo house in my front yard.

 WOW, cool!!! But, aren't you forgetting something??? :grumpy:;) ...PIX, man!!! Where's the pix, let's see it!!! :D:thumbup::thumbup:

Alex- What would Jerry say... and do?
"Let's Drink!!" :D

Ya, know...a shot or 2 of vodka would hit the spot right about now! Thanxx, man! :D

Let's Drink!!!
Jerry :D
( ...Oops, I mean... Jaxx!)

;)

Here in DC ... maybe 6" in most places.

But it came at the wrong time and in the wrong way, with ice.

Thus -- I had a 10 hr commute yesterday, arriving home today. Still beat. I hear some folks took as much as 13 hrs.

And about 350,000 houses without power, still.

:eek: 10 hours to get home!?!?!? I can't even imagine....

We had a big storm back in December, took me 3 hours to get home. I thought that was bad. Friend of ours that works at the Cleveland Clinic told us of people running out of gas before even getting out of the parking garage that night, and the security folks telling people to go back to their office/cubicle and just sleep there.

What are you talking about? You don't shovel and I'm sure your snow thrower is self propeled so you get to walk behind it and not even push it, so it's like mowing the lawn in the winter... I don't know, cause I need to do all mine with a shovel... the good old fashion way...

Yeah... I wish it was as easy as it sounds in your quote. Factor in a sharp incline and the fact that it's just easier to manually steer the thing rather than trying to use the power (although that is great for the way up!)...coupled with yanking it back & forth to get it where you want it as well as trying to break through a snow wall twice its height...and there ya have it. Granted that I'd have been whupped with less accomplished if I had to shovel, but that snow thrower is heavy as heck...especially when you're treading on ice and dealing with a heavy snow. The 2 nor'easters last year were easier to dig out from than this mess. Did I mention the heavy band of sleet too? ;)

To think that some people still wonder why trucks are so popular around here...

Over the weekend we had a bday party for my aunt upstate in the mountains - our driveway froze up after sunset and everyone with a two-wheel drive (there were 4 of them) had to leave their cars until the morning thaw - they just could not get up our hill even with sand and four of us pushing...

I will always own at least one vehicle that has four wheel drive.

Oh man that's incredible!!! I can't comprehend weather like that. Haven't even seen snow like that before! I saw a little bit on the side of the road once in Yosemite.

Spose I shouldn't complain about the awful sunburn I got the other day :D

Great pics!!!

I feel your pain brother - at least we have a SNOW DAY today (im a history teacher). We got 19" in Central Park which set a new record.

Got the roof and hood and sides cleaned off, but we gave up digging her out and are going to buy a proper shovel later, not a sled :D

Good news is we dont need the car until tomorrow afternoon!

Just pop it in 4x4 low and pull out! That is what I do.

2009 in Spokane WA saw 92.6 inches in the city. I lived up on South Hill, so probably got a bit more. It was a stellar year for snow.

This year I was in central Washington. No fun. Just so so for snow fall.

I am missing great snow like that.

Jaxx, I feel your pain. I went to check the mail today which was fine until I dropped my SAR 3 in the snow and just had to go in after it. !@#$in snow... the fiancee thought it was too funny to pass up the photo opp. Not my best moment. :o
