In the absence of a Busse Kin folder, what do you guys pack for a pocket knife?

Wow! I've been a ZT fan for a while, but didn't realize there were all the variations of the 300 series. Love that Digi Camo G10!

I have a Spyderco Pacific Salt for the beach.

Thread got me thinking... I used to have a large Sebenza years ago that I really liked, but had to sell when I was out of work. Loved the no frills rugged constrction if it. So.... I just grabbed one on the exchange in the new s35vn. Curious to see what that is all about. Also thinking about a ZT 055x or 056x at some point. Price seems decent for what you get.

Currently spyderco militaries. Waiting on my Farid CPM REX-121 K2. Should be able to make a feather stick out of my TTKZ haha.

This is a very interesting topic for me as fixed blade knives are virtually illegal to carry day to day in my jurisdiction. I love my Bussekinn but I am not able to use them even weekly, let alone daily like I do my folders. Ironically CCW does not transfer over to knives in Ohio. I was kind of surprised my first BLADE how many people open carried fixed blade knives when out and about.

I really like the pics of ZT 300 series of knives. Wish I knew someone who would allow me to borrow one for a couple of weeks to see how it felt and carried before I spent a truck payment on one.

I carry an xm18, a leatherman wave and a swiss army knife at all times. I also always have my game warden with me.

I am always surprised how much Busse guys will spend on fixed blades but cringe at pricey folders.

Ever since I came across Great Eastern Cutlery I have been carrying some variation from them.

There is something about an unobtrusive pocket design that is light and packs plenty of blade length for EDC use.

1095 and now O-1 with a very good heat treat. I love cutters and these are that. Plus the price tags will seem like your buying a coke vs a Busse fixed blade.

I used to be a Sebenza EDC guy

I still feel the same about the Sebenza. The design is what draws me to it. I just find I can get away with the lighter, more efficient pocket friendly GEC's.

What model GEC is that? I like it.

I have never seen any other knife you can use for 2 years and sell it used for more than you paid for it new if you want to or have to. I have lost money on some customs that were still in new condition....actually come to think of it, I have lost money on all customs but Busse.

Not unless you can find someone with one to sell. The latest is talk of a run with black delrin.

Well thanks for all the replies everyone. I went out and picked up a ZT0550. Ser. 0280. What a knife. This thing is built like a tank. I think I'm gonna put away everything else for a while.

What's the advantage to carrying a Hinderer custom over the ZT collaborations other than being able to say you're carrying a Hinderer?

Diamond bed Sebbie, Spyderco paramilitary-1, ZT-0300 (or 3000,etc... - PE & $240ish; whichever model # it is), BM something or other.:o - 3", .165" M4 super-steel w/ green G-10 & Ti. framelock...
The Para-1 (sometimes 2) or Sebbie see the most pocket-time.

I am drooling over your 0300. Me likey. :)

If you like the ZT 03xx series then you may find this one interesting. It is unusual in that it has a Carbon Fiber Scale with a beadblasted blade and Galyean swedge.

It is not a production version and it may be unique - I don't know. I bought it from a person who knew someone at the factory who supplied it to him.

It seems to be a combination of:

- Blade from the TAD Gear (Desert Warfafe 0300-DW) edition - bead-blasted finish with custom Galyean swedge
- Handle from the TAD Gear (0300-CFBLK) edition with carbon fiber scale
