In the market for the Maxpedition DevilDog

One just went on the trade forums a day ago :(

I have 2 and love them. My perfect day pack.

That was mine...I found it too uncomfortable when it was loaded up and decided to go with a Pygmy Falcon II. This way I could carry more if I needed as I don't like gear hanging off the bag, especially if I was going urban.

I tried it as a shouder bag but the strap was too narrow and the space between the rings did not distribute the load as well as I liked.

It was well made as all Maxpeds are but just not for me.

I sold my Devil dog and picked up a Pygmy falcon II,I like it much better plus the whole man purse thing really played tricks on me,hearing voices just beyond the tree line giggling and folks learing.....no offense to those who like 'em but just not for me...

I've also used mine as a "daddy diaper bag". Although I didn't like the shoulder strap. Was just too uncomfortable. Maybe I had to much weight in it(fullbottles and what not). I carry it to work by the hand strap(my essentials for 12 plus hours on the job) and the waist belt out in the woods. I'm really glad I bought it. The shoulder strap will go to my max bottle holder when that comes in.

Hey ttd, you don't sound very secure in your, err, well with your man-card:D With a couple of Nalgene water bottles, it looks pretty good and with the waist belt, it's just a big fanny pack...so if you get insecure with the shoulder strap, strap it around the waist. I do agree that the shoulder strap is too thin, something I'll need to change out. The Pygmy Falcon II is a good little pack...like a bigger Devildog with should straps.

I wear my pink Wrangler shirt quite often. The last guy who questioned my manhood was presented with an offer to show his wife what a real man was all about. He got red, looked like and idiot, and walked away.

I guess it doesn't hurt being a former rec. bull/bronc rider and 10year linebacker all of 6'1" and at the time pushin 300#.
