I'm with Moxy on this one: Spyderco Dragonfly 2 in G10/VG-10. First rate discrete carry QUALITY blade. Their Japanese stuff is fabulous, and I rate it higher than the Chinese models after feeling several (and by steel selection too).
Kershaw's new Camber is quite good. I've got one on my desk right now. The JYD-II (for a big EDC) is excellent.
Kershaw is probably the best value in American made blades by a long shot. The Leek in the Sandvik steel is also excellent, but not my style.
Other than those 'modern' designs, a SAK is just about the most useful thing a human can own that fits in a pocket (short of a credit card, which can be used to buy a SAK!

).
