Congrats STeven!

All Velarde knives i've seen (from pictures only unfortunately) look to be exceptionally finished and well made.

I was wondering why it is a "semi" integral. No pommel?

Steven, as you know from our conversation, I share your feelings on this piece. I would also prefer the guard a little different, but I really like the clip treatment and the stag.

I don't think the "mark" looks bad, just not where we are use to seeing one. In fact, the placement has grown on me fast.

Congrats, on a nice addition to your Chute collection.

Nice knife. Mr. Velarde appears to have done a fine job.

However, to quote you from another thread:

"....it is a visual repeat of every tactical knife element that has been created in the last decade."

In my paradigm, repeats of classic elements is not a negative, from your perspective how is this chute not a repeat of past chutes?

Beautiful knife there! The 'Chute has caught my imagination like virtually no other knife. My own Chute collection is getting close to 30 deep (3 each from John Young & Bob Loveless, and 20+ from S.R. Johnson.

This is the product of a collaboration between Ricardo and Steve that is one of my favorite all-time.

Thanks,

Matt

I like this knife as is. I'm diggin' the fact that the logo is in a location that is atypical. It makes the knife more interesting, and desireable, to me without disturbing the classic design elements of the style. Niiiiiice, congrats!!!

It is a commissioned piece....great maker to work with.

Okay, STevie, since is was commissioned, why did you not address the design elements that now trouble you, prior to the completion of the knife.? As a sheath maker, I have one client that I make multiple copies for until it is just right.:D Just check with Ricardo, and I bet he'll make you another one with the adjustments.:D

I wouldn't have posted this if you hadn't picked on Joey a few posts back.

Oh, before I leave, that is really a very nice knife and like others I like it the way it is, maker's mark and all. You did good.

Paul
