Hey everybody. With Christmas right around the corner and having had, just a few days ago, one of my coworkers jimmy a door open with my CQC-7 Im wanting to get my 3 coworkers a decent inexpensive knife of there own. :p

Just looking for a sounding board of sorts, to see what options are out there. Here are a few things I had in mind.

-single blade 3-4"
-pocket clip/one hand opening
- 20-25$
- decent lockup
-tough and easy to sharpen woulds be a good idea LOL (were in construction) im sure ill be sharpening them for the guys constantly.
- lightweight..ish 4 or 5 ounces or less so theyll actually carry the damm things lol

Looking at the buck vantage line or maybe something from kershaw... not sure. Wanting something that is a good value but inexpensive cause money is really tight. But I still want to do something for my work Bud's.

What say ye BF'ers?

tenacious doesnt go 20-25$ does it?

hmmm....off to look. something from spyderco would be fantastic.....

The cheapest I've seen the Tenacious is $32, not including shipping. So it's going to be a bit more than you wanted. How many co-workers? How much do you like them?

A good $20-25 folder is going to be hard to find new. Another knife that's as cheap as $30 is the Kershaw Skyline. 3 1/8" blade and G-10 handles.

I'd recommend the Kershaw Needs Work, but its out of your price range at about $35. Otherwise, an excellent work knife.

The Buck Nobleman is a nice little framelock in your price range.

Tenacious isn't exactly lightweight either, but that or the persistence would be a pretty good call.

In for good ideas. last year my assistant manager got a bunch of the guys some decent little folding box cutter type knives, and I thought that was pretty cool. I think I'm the only one who has used mine, and I also usually have at least another pocket knife on me anyways, but still...

There are some Byrd models that should fit the bill. I have a Crossbill and I like it a lot, though it's probably not the right model for your application.

look into the kershaw oso sweet, it might be what your looking for... also check out the boker subcom series...

nobleman, my son has one and it's a great knife, came shave sharp holds an edge real well, looks nice (if ya like that kinda knife;)) has a clip, slim, decent ergo's and is an all around great buy for the $20 bucks it cost me:thumbup:
very nice of you to do this for them:thumbup:

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! Lots of things to look up this morning. intrested to see that buck nobleman someone suggested, I would think even most non-knife knut folks will recognize the BUCK logo and think...Neat!

I'm a fan of Klein in that price range--you get amazing value out of those knives and they are intentionally designed for electrical contracting. Somewhat hard to find--hit hardware and electrical wholesalers to see who has them in stock.
