Inferior Khukuris? Put Up or Shut Up.

Loki :

I suspect that you will never escape the comparisons game but in this case I really think it's driven by something other than product quality.

Speaking for myself it is not, and I would extend full confidence to what Will Kwan and Cobalt have described as well.

Cliff:

I read your reviews on the GH and HI blades. I don't doubt the results were honestly reported. I put a lot of faith in your reviews. I haven't tried to stress my blades to such an extent. My usage has shown the GH and HI knives to be practically identical in ability and durability. My point was that these "mine is better than yours" debates are often not about the product but rather preference and opinion. I like HI and GH products and will buy from one or the other depending. Me thinks there's room for both in the market.

FNG, you've made some serious allegations about ETC. Could you possibly highlight some of their statements that you see as suspect?

No argument here. I was one of the ones supporting Craig early on and pushed Mike and Spark to create a GH forum.

I hope this does not go into a flame war as I respect both individuals and the products that they have allowed us Americans a chance to own, that would otherwise be nearly impossible to obtain.

Having said all of the above a little competition is good since it keeps quality at a high level. Imagine if CS was the only knife company available. Say good buy to Falknivin, BK&T, Busse, SOG, Reeves, Spyderco, Benchmade, etc. Competition is what got us the latest crop of manufactured knives which are leaps and bounds ahead of what was available 5 years ago. If the khukuri quality continues to improve, then that's great. I feel that there is room for two EQUAL quality khukuri sellers since the demand can most likely support both.

Ok, long and boring, so what.

Hi Big Bob; you need only to look at the publications and make up your own mind. I`m stepping on some toes here, so I`ll back off. Nothing is the way it seems.
However, the goals of ETC are well documented.I assume that we all can read.Clinton/algore have been pretty frank.Take your poison. Don`t whine when the thugs kick in YOUR door.
Combat Arms Officers won`t be there(I hope), but it won`t help you.

You notice that no one has refuted anything. There may be something that I am not aware of.One thing I do know:I don`t want ETC anywhere near my kids,or anyone elses.

However, the goals of ETC are well documented. Don`t whine if Nepal is destabilized. We`re good at doing that.I assume that we all can read.Clinton/algore have been pretty frank.Take your poison. Don`t whine when the thugs kick in YOUR door.

Everyone is so greedy for missions and money right now that I would not warrantee anything.

I sure hope that this isn't the case with ETC. I'd hate for people like Craig and the rest of us to be tricked into giving aid to those who would harm the very people we are trying to help.

Bob

Bob,I can`t tell you what to do.No one is being tricked. They are up front about their goals. Read what they say and then give to the Maoist terrorists,if you are so inclined.
I could stand a decrease in the AK-47 price. They are US$100.now on the open market, last I checked Panama.US$50.is more like it.They are pretty good weapons.Everyone should have two.
I prefer the Yugo forged recievers. The China stamped ones coming through Tibet still work just fine.
You won`t like what happens to your kuhkukri supply, however.
