INFI and rust

That Pacific Salt shouldn't rust at all, period. Degrease that puppy and carry it for a while, if it rusts have Sal take a look at it, I'm sure he'll be very interested.

Ed. Shig, I'm not saying that it's impossible to blue infi, but cold blue won't cut it. If you have a friendly local gunshop with a hot-blueing setup see if they'll dunk it in there for a little while to see if that works.

I should clarify about the PS. I havent seen any "rust" but just some minor spotting if left in my kit bag w/out rinsing. Nothing that couldnt be removed pretty easy.

If RUST is the Issue, get a titanium knife. No worries then. I know, Titanium doesn't cut as well as steel---blah, blah, blah, but---that's the trade-off. I love my Titanium knives for that reason.

I have plenty of Ti knives..in fact I now have nearly every fixed blade model Mission makes(never got the MDK, I hate tantos). I was just curious about peoples experiences with INFI stain resistance.

It seems to me that a little maintenance is all it takes to keep rust off your blades. Yet many owners have rusting on their knives. Lack of maintenance?

High performance stainless steels tend to corrode easily when you sweat alot in 90F ambient temperature working conditions. They're fine if they've been oiled or waxed or polished every day but after a hard days work sometimes you really don't wanna bother. In fact because of this I plan on picking up a couple spyderco salts, a serrated salt 1 as an exercise knife and probably the pacific salt, since the endura is an old favorite of mine.
