INFI Machete?

An 18" would be good 24" would be great!
I had a tramontina 24" and it broke when I was trying to cut some oak, the piece that broke went rigth up in the air, It almost landed on my head.
After that I bought a couple cold steel's and those have been great to me!
I think they would defenetly be a hit!

Trams are awesome machetes but are better suited for softer vegetation. That's why I prefer thicker machetes for harder woods.

Maybe we need a "Chete Death Chat"?

Don't get me wrong I still use the bottom half,
Is just about 8" shorter! :D
I learned my lesson.

I'm pretty excited for the Fiddleback machete's (buying all four lengths), but one with some Busse flavor would be cool stuff.

I have a cold steel Magnum machete with a 18 inch blade. It is a bit thicker than a normal machete. 2.75 mm.

It has done some chopping in super hard wood, and been fine. Once I convexed the edge on my belt sander it was good to go.

It now has a convex edge and has held up rather well to hard woods, even taken some pretty hard batoning.

I have been eying "higher end" machete's lately.

Both ESSE, and Fiddleback are offering some beauties!

From all reviews, Condor machetes with the convex edges are stellar as well.

The edge on the CS was pretty rough, and rolled easily. Once I gave it some attention it was fine.

First I maintained the edge angle and took it to a diamond stone.

Then, for kicks I convexed it on my belt sander. Much better.

A nice Busse machete would hit the spot.

I'm off to destroy some vegetation in my new yard with my new Martindale Bolo Cleaver Machete.

All the while wondering, "What if this were made of INFI?"

I just saw the your video with that one.

What his the spine in that? 3mm?

Looks great.

 ...Please...NO!!! ;)
We already have 2 Death Chants already in progress and I wanna lock 'em both! (although I do want a Muk & a few folders) :D

Now that there seems to be lots of interest what style of machete would you guys prefer. Here is a link to a page of different styles. I'll try to find it in jpg form if possible.

But you get the idea. I really like the bolo style for one.

P.S. : Let me know if I shouldn't link to a website that sells non-Busse blades and I'll remove it. It just has a good visual for various styles as we ponder the Busse machete.

I am blown away by my Basic 11. I truly wonder how long it will be before the basic 11 will be recognized as the amazing knife it is. I know its not quite a machete in stature, but 11 inches of INFI and only 17 ounces, plus with what I find the most ergonomic res c handle for actual use and safety, is as close as it is right now in INFI. (I know its a chopper). More comfortable to use than my dogfather LE. I don't get why the basic 11's are slow to sell??? I guess it shows that folks love to dream about concocting their "dream" infi user, but when in reality most Busse's only get dusted off and pulled out the safe once in awhile. With all the love for the dogfather LE, and here in the basic 11 is essentially the INFI equivalent, but better and slow to sell???? Very bizarre?

1'8th inch thick INFI and 14 inches in length with a basic handle would be very sweet

Basic 11's are where it's at for weight to performance ratio for sure!!

I am sold on the ResC handles too. It is nice and firm. Much more resilient than Krayton. Great stuff!!!!!!!

They were selling like hot cakes at first, even at a pretty good mark up. I got mine at show cost (Which I know the Hog I got it from paid more than in order to score it for me).

I think I would have to make a vote for a style that I don't see listed on there. Mate a bolo with a monster nessmuk. Nice wide blade from edge to spine, extra knuckle clearance for the handle.

The great thing about the Bolo style (and my ideal with the even taller blade) is tons of space to grab onto using it for a draw knife, or scraping, etc, and keep your mitts away from the blade. Forward weight for chopping too.

TL, the link posted could be interpreted as "deal spotting" and I do believe that it should be removed. If you can post jpegs w/o prices/links, I'd appreciate it. :)

No worries bro. I just learned how to use the "snippiong tool". Fix on the way.

My thoughts exactly.
