Infi vs. Angel Sword Steel

Angel Sword says they use S7 tool steel which Busse admits is tougher than Infi but which doesn't hold as good an edge. In fact a company affiliated with Busse (Scrapyard knives) uses S7 as their primary steel, however they also use SR-101 (Bussekin Swamprat's primary steel) and occasionally Infi. Of these three steels S7 is the cheapest and generally considered the least desirable because its edge holding a ability is significantly less than Infi or SR-101.

Hope this helps.

It's only RC57.....
INFI is 58 to 60 +

this is the most pertinent fact. You can't compare steels at differing hardnesses for toughness. 1095 at 48rc will be able to handle a similar amount of abuse as just about any of the top quality steels can at 58-60...

Silly claims from a silly company. Ask them to back up those claims against an AK47!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would not call them silly, did you see there knives tested on discovery on the show myths busters.

They make a good sword. Not the best, not even amazing, just very, very good, and they charge 2 to 3 times what a similar quality blade from a custom maker or production company would charge.

I will not argue that they do bad work, but i have yet to see one sword made by them that was priced where it should have been.

I think Dan's Scizzy is S7 and higher RC than 57. I remember Jerry saying they were impressed as to how well their speacial heat treat did on their S7.
They also shot it with a 50 cal. (from far away) but still sweet.

I watched the Badger guys a few days ago slamming differential 1075 edges into a block of steel with no edge damage and it was impressive. I talked to them for a while and had a good time.

Just because it isn't INFI doesn't mean it isn't any good. At the same time, good better and best aren't the same. I was really tempted to get one of the 1-hand designs but the force was strong with me that day and I managed to resist. I did grab a card though and might order one.

darkaether. I do believe the force is strong with this one'you', however, is it the good side? : )

For only $395.00 plus shipping, you can have this incredible S7 anomaly:

Here's a great deal

Only $2000 and made out of "living steel" which must be awesome because it has a name

What I noticed in the videos where he was bending the S7, it was "taking a set" in stages, numerous times before it broke.
When the yard bent the Scizzy it wasn't "setting" at all, and it went back to almost true.
I would have liked to see him release the blade after the 180 degree bend. :)
Edit to add: on the second video he does release it a little at the 180.....didn't look good.
