Whoo who! I just finished up the last 3 knives I HAD to have done before X-mas! Whatta huge weight off of my shoulders. Think I'm gonna take a break for a few days. Where's the beer?

Duh. In my spare fridge.

That would be nice...except for me not knowing ASL. I've got the screamin' nieces on the way from PA; one of them (she's 8) actually does yell most of the time - when she's on the phone, I generally hold it at arm's length to lessen the chance of a ruptured eardrum. I gotta find some discreet noise reduction ear thingies.

Have fun with your dinner, C-Bear!
Run to the shooting range, get a pair of shooter ears. When the sister in law asks why explain that you just had back surgery and you're trying to avoid a massive pain in the ass.

Sexy watch, shame it's going on YOUR wrist.

It is much smaller than my previous one, and just jam packed with features. Now has an alarm to warn of barometric pressure changes, all sorts of neat stuff with that, and the compass seems to be vastly improved.

so now I'm going to be eating turkey for the next 10 days....

That sounds like an eater's decathlon. I always have trouble keeping leftover turkey interesting. Maybe shredded dark meat gravy over biscuits would be good? Turkey+bacon+muenster on pumpernickel? A man can only eat so many leftover turkey sammiches in a year. Perhaps a pulled turkey patty/meatloaf? have fun if you can.

Turkey brunswick stew?

curry, stir fry, burrito, may make some jerky, turkey melt w/pepperjack, etc...

Sorry to hear about the ruined plans but when I was in High School, my folks would make a huge turkey, sometimes two. Lots of leftover turkey. I would make turkey salad sandwiches every day until the turkey was gone. Loved it.

Wow, them little inserts make a huge difference, one casualty but man worth it!

Cool. I'm gonna get some for my wife's Scout. Gonna get a Scout for myself as well.

"We're launching a new brand in 2014 under the CAMP-LORE name. Reuben came up with the name so his knife will be the first in this series. So, in 2014 be looking for scandi grinds, leather sheaths and all the other cool stuff found on bushcraft style knives.."

From ESEE. Cool.

Todd, glad you got that weight off your shoulders.

Erik, the forecast for the storm has been lessening every day. Now they are calling for some ice and a couple inches of snow.
Hopefully it doesn't get too bad for you.

By the way Todd, the beer is here, not in TN.:D

This guy is crazy good with a slingshot. Shoots the can twice before it hits the ground:

I'll say this much, Gus accepted pretty eagerly when I offered him some ibuprofen this morning. Freakin' lightweight :D :p

As for me, I just had a hair of the dog. I are a professional!

In all seriousness, having Gus and Christine stop by for a visit was a lot of fun. They're both smart and funny, and "get it". We talked about everything from gardening to climbing to good food to magical heat-treat formulas. (the secret is in the voodoo chicken blood)

Gotta say James, it was an absolute pleasure seeing you and Miss Angie. That said, I think I'm still drunk - lol! Thankfully Christine was sober and could drive this morning!

That's cool, I can't wait to see what they have to offer.

We are bracing for an ice storm up here. We should get about an inch of ice and a lot of rain overnight and into tomorrow. The last time we saw weather like this we were without power for about 2.5 weeks. Could get interesting.

Went for a nice hike today. Our weather has been unseasonably warm so far--took advantage by doing a 7 mile passage on the Palmetto Trail.

We've had freezing rains all day. The temp has stayed right at 32°. The sidewalks and roads aren't slick, but the ice is accumulating on the branches, and wires, etc.
