3 days?! What are you, my wife? It's not even leftovers until it's had a chance to sit in there for three or our days! If it's already been cooked once then gone in the fridge, it'll keep. I regularly prove my wife wrong by not getting sick every time she says something like "you made that last Tuesday! I'm not going to eat that! It's been in the refrigerator almost a week! You'll get sick!" If it doesn't smell bad and it's not growing (a lot of) mold, I'll eat it. And I (knock wood) never get sick. I hate to see food go to waste. Of course, the missus won't eat leftovers pretty much period. I had half a meatball sub yesterday that was hers from the day before. She was going to throw what was left of it out the night she ate the first half. As if meatballs go bad overnight in the fridge.Im all for leftovers too James!!
Now once it sits in the fridge for 3 or more days then its most likely going in the trash, but the next day, or 2nd day, i have no problems with it.
I had leftover lasagna for breakfast this morning, and it was delicious.
The funny thing is, we have some things in that fridge that are at least 3 years old and some "Here-she-is" and "Here-he-is" birth announcement chocolate bars that I know are more than 10 & 15 years old that we moved here in 2003 from our old house that she refuses to let me throw away. I'm not stupid enough to eat them, though. Yet, I was told that the beer I haven't been drinking the last 6 weeks "is taking up too much space" in the refrigerator. There is at times a black hole of logic in this house. I try not to get sucked in. But sometimes it's like I'm Rock trying to explain to Scissors why Paper wins.
