Ingram Micro (Venting my Anger)

I know that this is not knife related, but I have to vent. Can someone please explain to me why Ingram Micro has the worse customer service I have ever interacted with?!?!?! I mean, as for pricing I understand the bigger the purchaser you are, the better pricing on products you receive. Shipping is great too. But Jesus Christ, have any of you dealers out there ever called these people?!?! They are the ruddiest bunch of children I have ever talked to. New Accounts, Sales, E-Sales, all of them have a thorn stuck deep into the subterrains of their A$$. They made me feel (a) Stupid (b) Insulted (c) Wishing I could find another computer hardware distributor. Can someone else please validate my story, or am I just on some $hit list of theirs for being a small business and not being able to buy 3.2 billion worth of product like Comp USA does from them.

Ryan, It's not just you, and it's not just the company or industry you mention. It's a whole bunch of things. Here's my bitch: NO ONE DOES HIS OR HER JOB!!! And when you force them to do the right thing they get all pissy. Service Sucks!!!

Maybe it's because we knifenuts are used to getting such good service from our dealers we expect the same from other people who honer us by taking our money. But Noooo, they SUCK.

My wife and I have a theory, but it's not for a public forum.
 
My employer does a lot of business with Ingram Micro...
Believe me, Ryan, there are a lot worse companies out there.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the statement that us knife people expect and get the best service ever. I guess I am spoiled, thanx knife dealers for making me that way!!! I think I will just have to put on my $hit kicking hat when I call on people outside of the knife circle. Via La Knife!
 
Kind of old thread, but I can confirm Ingram Micro UK are just as bad. The single worst company I've ever dealt with. They have all these stupid women middle managers and front sales dealing with clients, their website is an abomination to all decent websites. They have tiered pricing based on how much money you spend with them per qtr, and if you don't meet it you get demoted. Their pricing goes: standard, bronze, silver and wooo hoo Gold.

What a bunch of twats. Encouraging small business owners everywhere to compete through borderline illegal pricing methodologies. If you could prove their market dominance, these practices would be deemed illegal. Right through the spine of the company they don't give a shit even up to Directors. Try sending them an email to complain why you have to pay twice as much for shipping or products as their big clients and they dont fucking answer.
