Initial Experience with Renowned Knife Shop in Los Angeles: Ross Cutlery.

Of course, wrong forum was a fluke ;)

That is what I want to know.

I don't know if I'm just crazy, but I've been feeling a sense of animosity and tension coming my way on this thread. Now I don't know what I did to irk you guys, but I apologize.

Yes, the forum was a flue, look at my posts, I'm a newbie here.
Second, the Hispanic woman's accent is utterly incidental, it is of no significance. Don't go looking for a problem when there isn't one to be found.

I thought you were stating annoyance towards Hispanic workers. Sorry, for the misunderstanding.

I have actually met the lady you are talking about. (She is the only female with a thick accent that works there.) She is very kind, and knowledgeable about knives. However it did help her for me to speak to her in Spanish since it is my native language. I literally spent half an hour talking with her about different knives and she patiently spent her time showing me all the knives I wanted to see.

I don't think I have ever seen the sharpener that works there, but from reading your thread he sounds like a real a hole. I do recommend you stop by to check out their knives. They probably have the largest selection of knives in California. Emersons, ZT's, Benchmades, Spydercos, Microtechs, William Henry, CRK, Strider, Pro-Tech, and so many more.

Thank you! Yes, although I had a somewhat difficult time understanding the woman who answered, she sounded to be very nice and patient (unlike the sharpener I talked to). I am glad to hear that she is also very knowledgeable about knives! It's great to know that she knows about the products she works with! Unfortunately, I can't say that same for many other gun/knife shop employees.

Anyhow, yes, I definitely plan to stop by. Everyone raves about their line up and I could use the display models to make a decision on which Benchmade I want. I might also just bite the bullet and get the knife sharpened. I don't want to take a chance and dick up my knives. I know it seems schizophrenic given what I just said, but I would rather have a sharp, straight edge I can sharpen and work with than grind one from scratch.

I'll probably check it out this week. I would still like for the sharpener to work with the customer though. Oh well, can't have everything.

As someone said before you can also try Plaza Cutlery for sharpening. They have a great staff that will help you with all your knife needs. And I am sure the sharpener there would be happy to work with you to provide you with what you want.

They also have an awesome array of knives, definitely not as much as Ross Cutlery but they do carry some really nice customs at times and very seldom a Hinderer XM-18.
