Nice edge! I hope you don't mind a few questions. Do you freehand? What abrasives did you use to polish it? What steel is that? How do you like the polished edge compared to something more toothy?
Sadly I can’t take credit for this beauty. That was done by the previous owner. It’s standing up very well compared to a few of my others that finished on a 600ish grit. It’s s35, I’ve only lightly stropped it this far and it still very sharp! I am not that great at sharpening myself, I have all methods out there. I need to practice more free hand but I’m afraid of rounding the tip.Nice edge! I hope you don't mind a few questions. Do you freehand? What abrasives did you use to polish it? What steel is that? I find that factory edges in general--not just from CRK--break down relatively quickly. Performance takes a quantum leap forward after sharpening at home.Edit:
I will say I much prefer this over convex from CRK, I don’t know what angle this is but my blades with factory edges seem to need more attention than this.

Interdasting (yep it's a word), that's normally where I take my CRK's (also in S35); followed by a VERY light few passes on a 1000 grit ceramic.
I have done a few mirror/near mirror finishes and they were too slick for my preference, I like the "bite" at 600. They sure did look purdy though.
It looks nice, Matt. You did a good job.Just last night I test drove my new worksharp unit and produced that edge on my insingo posted above. I just did a quick reprofile with 400 then moved to 600/800/ceramic and a few strop passes.. I should’ve spent a bit more time at 800 as there is still some marks remaining
But It is a nice edge at that. If I was to do it again 600/800 for sure. Toothy > polished
This is not a new picture, but seeing you on Bladeforums inspired me to post a picture of an Inkosi with an HDS.Sorry I didn't start this at the right time, but if it is okay I will jump in now! We used to do one week challenges on CPF so a month is a bit more of a challenge, but I love my small Inkosi so it isn't much of a sacrifice. I will probably carry other knives alongside it at times, but I will try to carry this one for a month starting tomorrow. I'm in!
