Inkosi

Well I've done did it now. This knife has been in the back of my head ever since I held one a couple weeks ago. I never thought I'd be interested in this one, but I was just really surprised when I held it. I just really like capable knives in this size range. I'm not a small person at all, but the 25 was a bit too big for my tastes. I debated picking one up used just to give it a shot, but have gone ahead and placed an order from KA because if I like it I want it to be mine and only mine. Hoping it arrives on Saturday and pretty excited!

I just received my Inkosi today. My initial impressions after fondling it for an hour or so:
Feels good in my hand, despite the smaller size. Feels solid.
I find it harder to flick open with my thumb than my small 21 for some reason.
I don't like the lanyard attachment point. It causes the lanyard to press into my hand when gripping the knife. I'll probably remove it.
All in all I like it better than my 21.

Think mine shipped today. Gonna be a long 2 days... Eager to really compare it to the 21 in an EDC role.

I see some preferring it over their 21 which will take some kind of feat for me...but I think it's got a shot.

Is there anyone who is not a 25 fan and loves the 21 who owns the Inkosi and actually prefers it over their small 21s? If I missed it upthread I apologize.

I should have said, I THINK I like it better. Too soon to make that decision yet. I need to spend more time with it. But I definitely do like it and I'm certain I will keep it

My Inkosi was a little tough to open at first. After a couple of days it opened up super easy. It's a brilliantly designed, small and stout knife. The perfect EDC.

I also was hesitant the first day with opening it, and how close the thumb stud is to the frame. Turns out, once I realized that getting the pad of my thumb to rest on the point of the finger groove while sliding my thumb Nail under the stud, I can very easily flick this blade open super quick and easy, with no wrist action at all. Just a simple flick straight up, and the blade flies out.

I just love this little knife.

I really don't like mine. I think the main issue is, that I got so so so attached to the perfection that is the small and large Sebenza 21, that I just can't accept anything else from CRK. I know that's sort of silly and vain, but it is what it is. I can't help the way I feel. I think I will be passing mine on to someone else who can enjoy the blade the way it should be enjoyed.

Thanks for your honest opinion. I love the 21 as well. I'm guessing you're not a 25 fan? It's been 3 weeks since I held the Inkosi and it was only for maybe 10 seconds, but I just remember there being something...different...that I liked about it. Maybe the fact that it's NOT a Sebenza makes me feel ok that it's different. I can't explain it. I felt the 25 was not a Sebenza, and it just didn't do it for me though I love that blade. Mine should arrive tomorrow and am hoping my experience differs from yours.

I am not a fan of the 25 at all. Again, I think this is mostly just my ego or something. As I said, it is what it is. But when a company (CRK) completely knocks it out of the park (Sebenza 21, in my opinion), it's incredibly difficult for me to accept anything else from them because it just won't get better. I hope your experience differs too. The Inkoski and 25 are great knives, but they just aren't for me.

My first CRK is the Inkosi, and after owning it a few months and then trying a Sebenza 21, I feel the same as you...in reverse! :)

Oh I agree with you. The only CRK folder that's ever really done it for me, minus the Mnandi, is the 21 although I think there's room for improvement on it, or should I say some changes I'd prefer. I couldn't ever warm up to the Umnumzaan and 25 as hard as I tried. I don't even really like the old Regulars that much. I'll just have to see for myself on the Inkosi.

My Inkosi is literally sitting in the floor of my garage right now and I'm at work. Talk about agonizing...

New knife day is always fun, but new CRK day kicks it up a notch or two. [emoji4]
