Insanity at the Shop

Did tough mudder. Spartan race is more serious business, TM felt like a frat party. Still a good workout, and getting shocked doesn't hurt, so don't worry about that!

Good luck!

Thanks! I'm wasn't too worried about the "Electric Eel" or "Electroshock Therapy", I've been shocked before. It's not too bad. The obstacle that has me a little concerned is the "Arctic Enema", that just seems like it would really slow me down. There are so many different kinds of runs that I want to do next year that I'm sure that I'll end up going broke on them

I am not signing up for anything that has the word "enema" in it.

On mine (Chicago, held at Seneca hunting club) the Arctic Enema was first after about a mile run. It was not pleasant and caused my shins and calves to cramp immediately, and as my team started mid-event, they were all completely muddy. It's doable, but just make sure you're limber or, like me, you'll be pulling cramps out sitting in 5 inches of mud :D I ended up running the rest of the event with shin splints.

I'll remember to limber up before then, I'll have to see how many yoga classes there are around here. I loathe shin splints with a passion, they're terrible.

I'm definitely starting to feel super confident about Tough Mudder, especially after reading a lot of these comments. Should be a blast!

Just to join the conversation, my first Mud Run is this Saturday, too. I missed out on the Color Me Rad. Anyway, hoping the mud run will be a good warm-up for the Zombie Escape next month.

The zombie race looks like fun too, good luck!
