Instead of a Strider

I have a sebenza and planned on getting an SNG as a hard wear user.... however, after what I read, i am no longer interested in their product. I was wondering what you guys would suggest I get instead, I was looking for something ergonomic, grippy, with a 3.5 inch blade or so, a frame lock, and no more costly than an sng. Thanks for any input

I'd get an Emerson CQC-12(Comrade). I DID get that instead of a Strider(I had the cash at the time).
It's a 3.9 inch blade, but carries very slim. Superb ergonomics, and VERY grippy. Looks better too, in my opinion.
Get one while you can!:)

Buy a ZT 300 series.
I beat mine and it can do pretty much anything (well it can't make pancakes, if only...).
The knife rocks.
Buy one.

Try to find an SG2 Titanium Junkyard Dog. You should be able to get one for about $145 if you can find it.

If you can find a Benchmade Skirmish that would make for a great knife, they've recently been discontinued. And if you can handle some bulk and weight check out the ZT 300 series.

And if you decide to look at knives that don't feature the frame lock, check out the Benchmade Rukus or try and find a Spyderco Manix.

What did you read that made you no longer interested in a Strider? From all I've read they make very reliable knives.

I second this choice or perhaps the Tyrade model frame lock if you can find one.

I like the Bradley Alias larger model also.

There are few that are going to offer the same features of the SnG for that price point. The Hinderer lock stabalizer for one, the built in choil for another, but you can find the good edge keeper in any of the above. Actually I'd take that SG2 steel over about anything else I've used personally when it comes to edge keeping.

The CQC12 by Emerson would be a first choice but it has been discontinued however if you can find one I'd say get that yeah. Its a great knife no doubt about it.

Others you may want to look at are the BenchMade Skirmish models and perhaps some of the Buck Mayo model frame lock folders.

All good choices depending on needs and the style you like.

Now as to the

Trident Knives
Extrema Ratio
Zero Tolerance-collaboration from Ken Onion, Kershaw & Strider.

It probably wasn't the knife aspect that made him change his mind. Instead of having another thread that gets into the whole Strider ordeal I will just give you a link another recent thread that discusses it, that way we can at least attempt to stay on track. Be warned there is a lot to read.

Well, you could save yourself some cash and get a Griptilian (great work knife) or a JYDII (again, it's a liner lock, but an extremely strong one), both will run you far under 100.

It's so great you decided to make ANOTHER Strider thread.

It doesn't have to get sideways and derailed. The guys politely asked for other options it shouldn't matter the reasons. Just stick with the question at hand without all the reading between the lines guys and we'll be fine.

Another recommendation is for the soon-to-be-released ZT0350; all the advantages of the 0300 series (S30V, assisted opener) but smaller than the 0200 (ie. easier carry).
