Instead of a Strider

Check out a Jim Burke production Rockstar, but you should at least make an attempt to handle an sng...they are great knives, if you can, get one second hand, a lot cheaper than new, and chances are it will be like new any way.

Get the CQC12 Comrade. 4" stout and strong blade, and the weight is very light. It's like a ZT300 series on a diet.

The ZT line is extremely hard to beat when you consider what you get for your dollars. If you have a thing about the 030x due to the Strider thing, take a look at the 0200 (Onion) and the 0500 (Grant & Gavin Hawk). To me both of these carry better than the 030x series. You will not be disappointed!

The 0500 has the Hawk lock, and the 0200 is a liner, but I've seen frame locks thinner than the liner on the 0200.

I do use my sebenza pretty hard right now i was just looking for a larger pocket knife to accompany my fixed blade when im in the field or just need a bigger blade, i carry my sebenza everyday, i take care of it but i use it

I would consider a Carson

You get a knife from a maker with integrity that is unquestioned. A man who has been recognized by his peers for sharing his knife knife knowledge, who stands behind his work and wants his knives to be used so much that he is willing to refurbish them.

When you buy a Custom backed by a person like that, it's value tends to hold or go up.

Get a strider, they are a die hard knife, plus they have a top warranty.

It's great if that's what you want to buy. Plenty of people like theirs.
But it doesn't really further the search for a knife to buy that ISN'T Strider, but has some of the same features one may be looking for.:)
