Intangible Value...(GAW)

Im in, Id love to have a good sharpening stone.
I have to say what everyone else said. The Porch is the best place on the internet. I see other subforums here and people are just hateful to each other (and to me if I post something in General that they dont like lol), its awful. The Porch is so much better! I love that everyone here tries to keep this space positive. Also, there are generous people here, like the OP with this GAW, or one poster on the Porch who gave me a knife for my nephew when I lost a GAW. My wife has a book related channel on Youtube and its shocking how negative the internet can be. That "booktube" community is full of drama, everyone is always fighting and complaining and full of outrage over the smallest things... its nice to not have that here. Thanks for the GAW.:)

Thank you for the opportunity. The porch is a special place I like to stroll through after a long day at work. My taste in knives varies from moderns to traditionals. I was honestly shocked to see the kindness complete strangers show to one another at first. This small sub forum pulls together with concern/prayers for hurt/sick members, they welcome complete knife novices and are always doing giveaways at their own out of pocket cost. This is a great place and I’m glad to be part of it! Thank you all.

I'm in for my 14-year-old son, who plays baseball and electric guitar and just came in second in our entire city in the 8th grade math Olympics. And he's a budding knife knut! :) Plenty of SAKs and Opinels, but no stone.

This is really cool. I enter precious few GAWs here on the porch, because well......... I’ve already been blessed with so many fantastic knives, that I hate to deprive another porch member of the opportunity.

But a GAW with a sharpening stone is another matter entirely. I have a budding collection of bench stones that I absolutely love to use, but I don’t yet have a black Arkansas. So this one really hits me where I actually have a need.
