Integral sword, like you've not seen before

It is, which beleive it or not is actually easier then doing it on one side LOL! More shots coming up, bevels are mostly done.

Also a set of tongs I made for myself, and you can see another pair in the photo of the sword.

That is so cool on so many levels! Thanks for posting, Sam!

BTW, I can see the first one, but the second one doesn't show up for me. Not sure how to embed from Facebook, only from YouTube.

Can everyone see the videos OK? I forgot how to imbed them :(

When I was logged in to FB yesterday , I could watch both.

when logged out, I can see

Forging the bevels.

 Sam that kicks ass! Smaller than I thought, but... Well you know.

;)

Ahh that is big. The photos do make it look much shorter than that! I am watching in Awe.

It's a good single hander, I'd couple it with a medium sized shield, which I would love to make from an old harrow disk :D quite a good tactical combo those will stop most small arms fire.......

thanks Roger!

Sam,

some of the pics make it look different sizes, how long is that?

great work as usual!

Sam,

i apologize buddy i didn't see where you had posted the measurements in post 72.

thanks

jake

Sam, I really like that. Love the handle! THIS kind of thread is why I still love this board. Good smithing. Some good-natured ribbing. And great demonstration of technique. Keep the pictures coming. I'm looking forward to seeing how it finished up.

No probs Jake, I forgot I posted it!

Nathan, I am glad you like it! I figure if I am going to complain about how much of a sewer this section has been teetering towards, I may as well try to change it for the better. After all, who give a crap about philosphy of science vs art, let's just make blades!
