Interested in G10 Eskabar?

I recently started a thread about needing new scales for my BK14, and several people started trying to help and give advice. Turns out that Sh@rp will do some G10 scales for the Eskabar, but he needs atleast 10 people to be interested. We already have several people interested, perhaps 4 or 5.

I started this thread, because the old one had a different thread topic and it seemed to be declining down the list, but I'm sure there's plenty of people interested in some G10 scales for the Eskabar. So, if anyone is interested, please post and let me know so I can let Sh@rp know something. Thanks ahead of time, guys.

Edit:Sh@rp has created a couple models in Lexan for us to take a look at. The new questions at hand are what color we will be picking, what screws(black or SS), and which model of scales. The one with the carabiner hole or lanyard hole. I tried creating a poll for this but for some reason it's not letting me. Perhaps someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong? If I can't get the poll running, you guys can just post your opinion of what you want in a post and I'll tally them up. Thanks guys.

Not sure yet. I havn't talked to Sh@rp about prices or anything. He just wanted to make sure he had atleast 10 people interested, but as soon as I can get ahold of him I'll post here. I can't send him PMs for some reason. I think I have to wait for the friend request to go through.
 
Got enough people now. Waiting to be able to get in contact with Sh@rp.

I'll make sure all these guys are seriously interested, and I'll let Sh@rp know something. I'm still waiting to be able to ask him about a price.

I am interested provided I can see some designs first and I can get it in black.

I completely understand on the design thing aswell, guys. This is just to see if people are interested, not whom is already ready to buy a pair. I don't know about the color thing. We'll have to talk with Sh@rp and see how he's going to go about obtaining the G10 material.
 
I've really enjoyed using my Eskabar since I've gotten it, just not liking the thin handle. Also, the paracord handle - while fun to make and looks really cool - is not my prefered material for a knife handle. I realized this when the cords became greased with animal fat from numerous summer bbq's. I prefer my coffee and women nasty, just not my knife handles.

I find it a little hard to beleive that there arent G10 handles on the market already! Seems like there would be more interest in it for such a nice little knife! Cant wait to see what they may look like!

Me too. I just can't believe something hasn't been created yet. It's such a great knife and people buy so many, yet there's no scale options. No wood, no micarta, no G10, no nothing. All is good, though. We just reached enough people interested so Sh@rp can perhaps start creating some. I'm still trying to contact him, but I can't send him a PM yet. Perhaps someone else can and let him know about this thread? He asked me to let him know something, but I can't exactly.
 
So, there's plenty of people interested in the G10 scales so far. I'm just trying to get in contact with Sh@rp now. I'll ask about what kind of price we're looking at, colors, design, etc. Any more questions, feel free to post here and perhaps Sh@rp will just hop in on this thread.Thanks guys.
 
Hey, Thanks everyone and sorry for the late respond:thumbdn:. But rest assure because I was hardly working er... working hard on the the design and some samples. Here is what I got so far and these are made out of Lexan...

07/09/2011, here are some update pics. It seems like the Carabiner hole is the one will be made for this batch so I took some new pictures just to clarify what we chose. Here they are:

Features and benefits:
Well beside they'll be made in G10, They'll be milled out of a solid block G10 with the "island" filling the inside cutout of the knife and also serve as fixing the scales solid with very little movement leaving the stainless screws to do their clamping job without of any twisting force when the knife is being used hard. And because they're one solid piece so they are not going to fall apart as the other scales was held together by glue. Price: will be $40/set shipped. Color will be one only...your choice. Pick one design only for this time. Hope I answer most of your questions. Thanks, my friends!

how about teflon like materials? or other dimensional stock?
