Interested in G10 Eskabar?

Hope I'm not too late to get in on a few sets !!!

Put me down for four (4) sets.

I like the either the green or black, so color isn't a problem. I'm leaning toward the carabiner model with the ss screws.

Thanks, sd550

Sh@rp, PM sent.

Thanks, sd550

They havn't been produced yet, buddy. Sh@rp is still in search of a good deal on the material, if I'm not mistaken, and this thread was mainly to gather all those interested in G10 scales for the Esky. We have plenty of people interested now. I'm sure it's 20+. We're still taking votes on which model and color. Most are leaning toward the carabiner model, including myself, and most don't care what color they come in. Both models will have the textured look, just some information, because in the picture the carabiner model doesn't have the textured look, but Sh@rp made it clear that they will once produced.

Put me down for a set in whatever color wins the vote, as I don't care about color -- heck, I'd be fine with the "natural" pale green/tan color, but I definitely want the carabiner hole, not the tiny lanyard hole -- it's a pain to thread paracord through the tiny lanyard hole.

sorry to do this, but after talking with my wife, and remembering I have two custom sheaths being made, I have to pull out. Sorry guys. I feel terrible.

I hate to leave the door open this way, but it really doesn't matter as far as handle material to me. Whatever the general concensus is, I'll go with it. Color isn't too important for me either.

I checked w/ my GF, and she said "You do not have an opinion..." So I, too, am "in," "for the general concensus!"

These are going to be sweet in G10.

Yes sir...mmmmm. Those look great.

And jarod, it's ok, man. We all understand when it comes to wives. I'm sure there's still plenty of people interested for the plan to still go through. I can't wait.

Sooo, I used my paracord wrapped Eskabar to clean a few catfish this weekend. Now I cant get the stench of catfish out of my paracord handle! I'm ready for the g10 now!! LOL!

try replacing the paracord if Dawn Dish soap or Suave Daily Clarifying shampoo don't kill the smell.
another option is to try soaking it in a cup of coffee. If the fish oils haven't gone rancid already, the acids in the coffee may break them down. (and after trying all that, seriously - just rewrap it with clean cord)

Thanks man, I'll give that a try. I actually dont mind wrapping it again, its just a very convienient excuse to get the g10 handle!
Now if only my wife will see it that way...

Lemon juice is pretty good at killing fish smell. Same thing as mentioned above, but citric acid in this case. I wash my hands in it after handling fish. Don't know how well it would work on paracord though.

Don't feel bad. I EDC my Esky everyday, and every time I look at it/use it I imagine the G10 scales. :) I can't wait either.

ah - cool.
]If that's the plan, set it out in the sun for a few days or maybe soak it in cat whizz -- she'll beg you to put G10 scales on it!
(of course, the plain lexan is pretty nice, too)

Hate to dig up an old topic, but I signed up here at BF just because I'm trying to locate scales for my Eskabar. Is there any hope of locating a set for sale? Thanks, been lurking on BF for a very very long time.

If you are interested in scales in general you can pick up a set for an izula and they will fit the bk14 (eskabar)

also there is this :-)

the ESEE izula micarta scales will fit with minor trimming, as will the G10 from The Knife Connection.
so far as I know, SH@RP has been swamped with work and hasn't done another run of these yet.
