Interesting old Busse article

Got to love the top grind on the standard Badger of the time.

$137.00

Pay more than that now to just get the top grind, added to a Badger.

High School in '89??!!??:o I'm gonna go find my rockin' chair now.....;)

I got out of grade school in May of 1988, started high school Aug. of 1988. :D I graduated HS in 1992. How's that Dwayne? Make you fell older than before? :D:D:D

Thanks, Eric, for reminding of the early models so that we can better appreciate the newest model. BTW another Class of '71. I used to buy my best knives at the local hardware store or sometimes the Army - Navy Surplus store.

I graduated from Kindergarden in '71.

That early BA looks fantastic. That is the same grind as on my PR variant:

I'm older than some of you and younger than some of you. ;)

However, I've been around here long enough to get to participate in some of Jerry's contests. Here's the loot Jerry gave away at the Vegas treasure hunt

Yowza!!! Not that's what I'd call a "Nuclear Payload" !!!!!

Yes, Jerry was very generous to give all of that stuff away just for a contest. Very cool.

BTW, mine is the PD Variant that is pointing straight down across the blades of the 2 AA's ;)

:D:D

Mine is the other one that has a handle that looks like a twisted root. There you go Eric, we have the only two "twisted root" handled PD variants!!!!!!

How does that handle on that PD Variant feel in the hand?

LOL 2002 high school grad here. Already I cannot relate to alot of teenagers.

It happens quickly, doesn't it? My H.S. grad was 1987. :o

also worth noting that the prices have stayed roughly the same :D

if you compare the new fbm to the night light, they've actually gone down :D

(but i think the night like is a little closer to a variant then a standard model. regardless, the satin jack was similarly priced to that badger attack, so the normal standard prices arent to far off even given the time between that ad and now :) )

Eric
This is a great thread!
What was the first knife Busse Combat sold?
I wonder if anyone has a picture of it?

Thanks
Vance

Vance,

I don't know what the first one was. I know Jerry has been making knives for many years but I don't know how long he has been selling them. I'd love to know what the first one he sold was.

:D:D
