well i didn't understand a couple of the bigger words and the dictionary couldn't give me decent results. i don't like to be a party to second and third hand misinterpretations so hence.. cliff :cool:

i think he lives in a different time zone than us, maybe even a different country :confused:

i know it's on the way and should make way good sense when it gets here. i think there were over 9 pages when it was all said and done.... some of it was even written on non-disclosier type docs :confused: :confused:
 
So, idahoskunk, what do the CATRA tests show? What steels were in the top 10?
 
way out of my league...

i 've never had a knife of any steel fail me. i still have and use my fathers shrade old timer that he gave me when i was 10 years old. he had it for five years before he gave it to me. that makes it about 49 years old! it sharpens easily and hold a fine edge, it has cleaned and fileted out many an elk. it also will close shut and chop your fingers off like a hot knife through butter.

i have a few knives from all the better makers in the industry, busse, reeve, fowler, hayes, d'holder, they all out perform any use i have put them through.

i'm not very hard on knives, i just use them for cutting things.

i wonder why cliff didn't get all the testing up yet, is it cinco demayo in his neck of the woods? :confused: :confused:
 
I too wonder why people worry about edge retention so much. Why exactly do you need a "hard use" knife? Are you using the thing to chop wood or what? But ti does sell knives to say you have the best steel. And like SteelDriver, if you can e-mail it to me, that would be cool.
 
i was just thinking the same thing! :eek:

the other night i opened a bottle of michalob ultra and the cap damned near tore my fingers off! i tried using my t-shirt for some extra gripping power and nothing, na da, ripped my shirt!

had to use a pair of pliers to get the damned thing off :confused:

then because i was so :confused: i tried several other beers and i was able to turn, or even bite the tops right off

so i went in to my bed room and dug out an old busse t-shirt, one that i was too embarrassed to wear because of all the pork juice and bbq sauce stains on it.

back to the fridge and found one more ultra (the beer of hogs, low carbs) with all my might and even using pliers i couldn't budge the stuck cap.

now.... i know this sounds a lil far fetched but using the old busse t-shirt i was able to take the cap off with just two fingers :confused:

go figure?????

cliff, whats the deal here?

Well, then we have to get back and ask Jerry for the results, but I would rather like to see a post like "All EU17s have been shipped" from Jerry. Jerry, please finish the EU17s first.
