Knife with handle cut off, exacto knife handled this.

I had scrap micarta laying around, for this size handle I used 3 pieces. 1 for a guard & 1 on each side. Knife is going to be a beater anyway.
I drilled out the guard piece and filed to fit, then inletted each slab with a dremel.

After dry fitting everything, some gorilla glue and clamps handled the assembly.

I did roughen up the sides & tang to be glued, and drilled pin holes to match the tang on one slab.
Note rough outline of shape I was thinking about. Decided to pattern it after my Power Eagle.

Rough sanded to shape.

Not very hard, just alot of patience. Besides hand tools, I used a table sander & a dremel. Some rivets were fitted to keep everything nice and tight if the glue doesn't do it's job.
Handle strikes me as a cross between the aforementioned Tops, a Collins Raider bowie, & a machete.

Like I said, I might tweak it a bit. Shape it a little more to my hand and add a brass lanyard hole liner.
Hope this helps somebody out.
LostinTN, those look fantastic !!!
Going to be sending out some scales I purchased recently
on the left is Cocobolo and on the right is Bocote
the Bocote is going to really pop with a hint of orange coming from it. esp when installed on the new polished blade
