Intro, First blade and grind question

Yep live and learn. For about 5 seconds I was pissed off. Then I just grinned and thought, well it got hot enough that's for sure. I won't give up, I'll still make something presentable from what is left over.

It's still totally flat. It will look like a half a leaf once I'm done. It's a lot harder and slower to grind and shape now that it's hardened. Need to go check out handles now too. I have some maple some stuff from India (orange, pink color), Oak, ironwood, eucalyptus and avocado woods. I might make a laminate of these.

Sucks grinding after heat treat, make sure you do it with bare hands so you can feel the heat and not ruin the temper. The ironwood wouldn't need stabilizing to last forever. The others may crack over time if not stabilized.

After the storms I can get back to this knife. Someone actually stole it and I managed to get it back a few days ago. Plumbers helper had sticky fingers.
