I see some AWESONE ones, the forst one over all and the second bark
nice nice pieces there
The blue spirograph is so perfect!
Masterserg, that second one in the op is amazing!! Nice collection!
I'm sure you recognize that it was put there to transition into the zebra of the Damascus. I think it was superbly done. I could never slide that beauty into my pocket without protection. I doubt I could cut anything with it. Beautiful, I hope the owner appreciates it, it belongs in a museum. You know ... I am not sure how I feel about the quarter of a zebra around the pivot. Is that sacrilege? If it were up to me, I would have left it at the cheetah and the two small (full) zebras ... Still, an incredible piece!

Agreed. Interesting to me is that my appreciation of art is enhanced, almost unnaturally, by the usefulness or function of the piece. Even if the artistic value overrides it's usefulness. The knife is a perfect example. Who would cut the fishing line off of a barnacle encrusted prop shaft that he couldn't even see with that knife? Yet because that is a great performing tool the art work means so much more than it would, for example on a whale tooth or a piece of canvas. Lessor examples include watches, lighters and cars.
I wish I could express that observation better. When you say zebra butt around the hole for the pivot; it does indeed detract a bit.
The exaggeration admittedly was for emphases; hope it didn't offend you or the knife. I certainly resemble the, "might not be all that refined", remark or so my family reminds me on occasion. Just an odd thing how much function increases my taste and how much the lack there of, decreases it.
