Hey, hows it goin'? I am an avid outdoorsman and always looking to further hone my survival skills. Lately, I've been working on my tool making skills (bows atm). Oh and while I'm not a collecter I love a good blade.

great pics guys... i'm in..

my name is Mike and i have been a woodsbum, just about as long as i can remember... my lovely wife and I have 2 wild boys, both of which have been raised camping, fishing, shooting traditional bows(and guns) and appreciating the woods and all it has to offer..

we recently moved and i haven't had as much time to cruise the forums as i used to, but we are now in a much bigger/nicer house that is surrounded with woods to tromp around in..:D

cheers.. Mike

Hey all,
my name is Alan, and I love the outdoors...i feel like that really doesn't need to be said amongst present company, but everyone else is doing it...peer pressure what can yah do? I am 26 years old and happy to say that 1) I will be married about this time next year to my beautiful girlfriend of 6 years (Ashley is supportive of my outdoor/knife "obsession" and has even started to come with me on over night trips), and 2) that I will finally graduate college after 8 years this coming May. I have just received my orders for my first duty station and couldn't be more excited about going to Alaska.

I am not sure which came first my love of the outdoors, or my love of a good knife. Maybe at the same time...either way, i was a little kid. I haven't been on here very long, and so far have kept to myself unless I felt I have something of value to add to the conversation, but i am learning allot and have come to appreciate the quality of people who are involved with this forum.

For a long time i was only concerned with having the newest and best gear. I have moved away from this way of thinking, and try to take as little as possible and work only with the gear I have at hand. Don't get me wrong, I love getting new toys, but now i try to make sure i really need a toy before i go get it. This site has really helped me to work towards my goals when it comes to the outdoors, and I look forward to both learning and enjoying more time with all of you in the future.

I have learned a tonne of stuff (aboot 71.364% of my skills) over here at W&SS. Forum time is great, but its no substitute for dirt time. I have had the pleasure of meeting a tonne of W&SS's in person at various meets and get togethers as well as meeting some of the cranky bastards too. W&SS is best served with a little hot sauce while taking in all the sage advice. Gotta keep the humour and not let things get too serious. There are a lot of great folks around these parts who are always willing to share their experiences and knowledge even if you have to pull it out of them with endless annoying follow up posts :D

Howdy ! They call me CoalDigger my real name is Thomas & like my forum name, I'm a Coal Miner from East Ky. I've been into the woods/bushcraft thing for as long as I can remember, my Dad raised me up hunting & fishing & camping & just woods bumming around, he showed me alot about the woods around me  I love the outdoors & knives & guns & Archery !
Here I Is :p

I'm Brian! Besides my family the outdoors is my passion. I've been hiking, backpacking and hunting for over 25 years. I really enjoy looking for native American rock art and tracking game. I'm definitely a knife, gun and gear freak. I have three daughters that I hope will share my interests. ;)

I really enjoy the W&SS forum here on Bladeforums.

Well...I guess I'll play. I'm Doug and have been here a couple of years. I grew up helping work on the family farm, really, I spent most of my time running around in the woods and cutting up everything in sight. I spend most of my time in the Texas Hill Country hiking and fishing...when I can get a good excuse to skip work. I don't have a pic, but I will find one soon.

For all you new guys, enjoy it here. You can learn some pretty cool stuff here. Even from Jake and Tony. :D

Congrats Alan...always good to see a fellow bro-in-arms:thumbup: I was going to make a West Point joke, but I must admit the graduates that worked for me have been some of the absolute best officers I've worked with in the past 20+years. Congrats on the engagement as well...she sure sounds like a keeper:D

Brian, you need to enlarge your port-o-john pictures...that's a classic which also demonstrates the technique of always being prepared and keeping your knife close:D

I guess there is something to be said for the fact that he wasn't covering his privates with a neck knife :D

Hello, my name is Brian and I am a knife and camera addict. I am constantly studying the various aspects of survival both wilderness and urban, and I enjoy the study of bushcraft very much as well. I love to read through other's posts here on their experiences, and see photos of their areas of the world...and I like to post a few pictures here and there to share my experiences in return.
