Ironwood and Box Elder Burl Folder Redux

Good to hear this blade shape performs well, makes me feel better about keeping it on this knife

Can't believe how long ago that was Phillip:eek: I'm getting much better about how I feel about my work, it's been a few years since I put a knife in the drawer!:)

Thanks again for your kind comments and your well wishes!,
Dave

Hi Dave! Good to see ya back in the saddle, I hope your health issues continue to resolve and/or improve. I see NOTHING wrong with either of the two you posted up... I think they are both incredible. Having been the beneficiary of briefly having one of your folders on a pass-around, I can attest to the awesomeness of your work! Keep up the good work.

Hi Dave,

Don't know how I missed this one, either Roger!!!!

Dave, it's good to see you back at it again! Really am still so in love with the "drawer" knife I got from you last year! And these two I remember from one of the group pics you posted. They look really good up close!

Hope you're feeling better, and look forward to seeing more of your work!

Cheers! :D

I missed it too.

The knives are looking good Dave.

Glad you're back and staring to do better with your health. Now that I am working again maybe we can talk about that folder later this year.

By the way, my little ironwood utility is is still cutting like a champ and loking good doing so.

Thanks again you guys, I really appreciate it!!

This was my 5th knife made, I started my knife making obsession making folders then after about 20 I decided to try my hand at making fixed blades. When I made my 1st fixed blade I couldn't believe how quickly I finished it and with so few parts. I think that's why now when I make a fixed blade it has so many parts and pieces, I'm reverting back to my folder making days.:)

I've read here on the forums a couple times from very reputable makers speaking in general, "you don't know what you're doing until you make at least 100 knives" The knives I put in my drawer were mostly all pre 25 made. So see, I had a long way to go before I knew what I was doing (still do!), that's why they ended up in the drawer!:)

Those are absolutely stunning. If there was someway to sneak a subtle little pocketclip in there, I don't think I could resist. Masterful work, really.

I keep comming back to look at your l work just oustanding! and this went in the draw. I'd like to see what you call your good stuff
cheers

And I've got to agree with Michael, this style is extremely comfortable and well balanced! And to top it off, Dave's leatherwork is exemplary... a wonderful total package!
