Is a ZT worth it?

lol, I have a girlfriend actually, and she will be around this coming weekend from college, its been 6-7 weeks as she is going to school in another state, so I have been planning for that already, so this knife purchase is totally separate that, Ill be sure to treat her well for sure :) and she loves knives too! though doesn't understand/appreciate the higher build quality/materials like I do, but she can learn!

and I hope to have my 560 later this week, I will let everyone know about it when I get it :) I'm excited! its been a while since I got a new knife, and will likely be until Christmas/new years until I can think about treating myself again

Wow, 6-7 weeks! Doesn't sound to me like you will have much time to spend with knives.

Well she is into knives also, so when she comes over Friday night I get to show her the new additions since she has been gone, and the ZT 560 SHOULD be here by then, and from what I've heard about KershawGuy and his site, it will be :) so I will have time for the new knife, thankfully she enjoys them also! I'm sure she will be impressed by the ZT

P.S. Yes she already knows about it lol

My first ZT was a 0301. Still have it and still love it 4 other ZTs later. IMHO ZT takes the cake when it comes to production folders. Not knocking anything else down but of the Emersons, Benchmades and Spydies, etc... ZT is my choice. Just personal preference based on ownership experience (of all mentioned brands). Fan-boy? Nope. I own two excellent Spydercos and a great Benchmade to name a few. The best (for me) product wins and at this time it is consistently ZT.

Zero Tolerance were extremely great value for the money before they enforced MAP but even so, they are still good value. When dealers were selling them for >30% under MSRP, it made me give ZT a try and now I love them as much as Spyderco.

I like their user/utility/tactical models. Not really feeling their new boutique models, nor any non Onion or Hinderer knife to be honest.

Well, it came in yesterday, but was not able to go home to get it until today, gorgeous! I love how it feels in my hand, and the action is so smooth, locks up perfect... I think this will be the start of a great friendship Lol, kershawguy and his site are awesome :) I can wait to use this now, thanks for all the help everyone! I'm sure I'll buy another in the future

I had A ZT and it was top notch. It just carried a bit large for my liking. I have been impressed by all the models I have handled.

ZT's O560 is so nice I had to buy the 0561 as well so I think you're going to be very pleased it. Its a great time into/enjoy using production knives as there are so many great ones on the market. If you get a chance give the new 0562 a try, (I love this knife) this is very close to being my favorite (other than the 0777 M390 and 0600) and the price is very reasonable. Enjoy your new knife!

I was once the same as you! Thought there was no need for "$100+ Knives) Then i started to slowly buy more and more expensive knives and when i finally bought a zt I fell in love! Just the build quality alone and aesthetics attract me! But i'd say try it and if you dont like it sell it! You'll never know unless you try!

ZT knives are awesome I personally own the 0550 and the 0560BW beautiful knives that are hard use and are meant to be thrashed on pricing is fair considering the materials you get. All around great company ZT/Kershaw.

Zt makes me wonder if the xm-18 is worth it, ...when you look at it is that way, the zt is a great value. And I think its a fair comparison

ZT Hinderer 0562CF for $240 vs. Hinderer XM-18 3.5" flipper for $400+. Both make high quality knives. ZT flips better, has better steel and CF instead of G-10.

Here's a related thread from August 2013: Are ZT knives worth it?
