Is All 154CM Made By Crucible ?

Are all the 420 and 440 series steels made by crucible as well?

Those are just industry standards (AISI) for the 400 series (ferritic and martensitic chromium alloys) stainless steels.

CPM versions are always better . CM =Climax Molybdenum who developed 154CM then sold it to Crucible. Crucible then developed CPM154.

Do you have a link to this? All I could find was Carpenter buying up small pieces of Crucible.

Scurvy92, I was incorrect on this and I believe you are right. Carpenter bought Latrobe all right. A company called JP Industries purchased Crucibles mill and is running it as Crucible Industries now. There were other assets sold to different companies but the mill and the steel they still produce is the same. This was explained to me by a person in a position to know and I'm grateful for his help and information. I hope I got it correct.

Thanks,

Joe
