Is Emerson "satin" still chrome coat or is it bare?

its kinda a dull smooth bead blast looking finish, nothing at all like what most folks call "satin" imho.

not that its bad or anything its just not what i would call "satin". i suppose in comparison the the black coated finish it would indeed be "satin" though.

but what do i know lol?

I agree, its not really satin at all.

It does indeed look more like a heavy bead blast finish than anything else.

That is the hard chrome finish I belive. Not a satin finish. The current knives and for the past few years have a ceramic coating on the blades. I have owned tons of EKI's over the years and the BM models too and none have ever had a satin finish. BM's were beadblasted and then EKI's were hardchrome and then ceramic. Correct me if I am wrong about this. keepem sharp

though the customs have a true satin finish and some of the semi customs do too (ie the ECA series of knives) the productions feature a coating which is IIRC these days is ceramic but they (ie EKI) call the finish "satin" for whatever reasons, like i said in comparison to the black coated blades i suppose they are indeed satiny.

but its not what most folks would call "satin".
