Is it best to keep your pocket knife in a pocket sheath?

Yeah....I just put my knife in my pocket. It's a knife, you know? If I didn't want to get it scratched up, I wouldn't carry one. It seems like a pocket sheath would take a bunch of time fiddling with rather than just using your knife. As far as pocket lint, just blow it out once in a while. It's not a big deal.

I hear ya. Those KSF ones look pretty nice though for the price. Will probably scoop one of the universal ones just to have in case I feel a slip is needed.

I have one of those KSF leather sheaths without the snap. I bought it because I found that once in a while when I'm sitting down, my smaller knives would fall out of my pocket. I don't consistently use it but it's their if I need it.

Can't say I ever have used a pocket sheath. All of mine are users, and I don't mind pocket wear. I've had a knife of some form in my pocket for 20 years, and only one has ever escaped- that was earlier this year, and it was a hole in my pocket.

I use a pocket sheath for my nicer knives for a little added protection as I carry a pen and paper in the same pocket as my knife. I also like the sheath in that it holds it in my pocket a little better.

I use pocket sheath mostly in summer,to protect knives from humidity(perspiration) but usually just trow them in pocket

My SAK Spartan model is always in my right hand pants pocket. I can always tell if it's there and it can be retrieved in a moment and I've done this for 50 years. It teaches you not to invest in a 'too large' knife and not to burden it with superfluous features that hardly ever get used. I've always thought about getting or making some sort of belt sheath for it now that I also carry a very small pair of pliers too but so far this has not happened.

Well I thought I might need a pocket sheath for a few knives that kept sliding out of my pocket, but I find myself not using it often. So I have a leather pocket sheath that is there if I need it but will probably use on occasion if needed.
