Is it dirty to offer more $ to a seller if you know he has struck a deal with someone

Apparently he was getting a different story from Jim Kohl.

I feel that Mr. Kohl was playing both of us.

dd2 has offered to send me the knife at the original price and deal that I had with Mr. Kohl.

He also went on to make me a sweeter deal on a knife that I have been trying to buy from him.

dd2 (David Rinkus) has made up for short commings of Jim Kohl, and has gone the extra mile to correct this situation.

I have done trades with David in the past, and now that we have "talked it out" I will do trades with him in the future.

After my conversation with David (dd2) I can recomend him as being a stand up guy.

I would like to Thank every one for their support here and I would like to also say;

"I have done dozens of trades here on Bladeforums and other than this speed bump all have been good."

Thanks to Every one for making this a good place to deal and trade.

Once again, proof that I take far to long to put together a post. It would seem from reading my last post that 1whobuys/Chuck had not named the culprits when he had already done so. This is because I was getting my thoughts together on what I wanted to post and Chuck posted during this period.

dd2/David Rinkus, it is now up to you to make this right. Even if you have to buy the knife for a your higher price and then send it to Chuck in exchange for the deal he had worked out with Jim Kohl. In my opinion you should also cover all the shipping costs involved in this, including those of Chuck sending his knives to you, just to show your heart is in the right place.

It is simple folks. Just like Nifrand and Melvin put it.

Anything else ... it is time to find another hobby maybe drug dealing or petty theft would work out, cause you won't enjoy this one.

Do your DRUG DEALING here on BF. I am very BORED...Thank you, and maybe some Prostitution. I do ENJOY UC work:cool:

It is really good to see that this has worked out as well as it has. It looks like David is actually a good guy that just got caught up in a bad situation. I commend you David for how you have handled this. Well done.

I once put up a fairly expensive piece for sale here on Bf and someone emailed me in like 5 minutes and told me they would take the knife. I was losing $50 on the knife. I emailed them and told them it was theirs. A few minutes later, I get an email from another forumite and they say they want it. I emailed him and told him that it was already sold. He emailed me back and told me he would give me $100 over what I was asking for the knife if I would sell it to him. Well, you know what I did? I emailed the guy that bought it and told him that the knife was his and I knew someone that would give him $100 over what they paid for it if they ever wanted to sell it. Thats the way you are suppose to do business :D

...When I found out this involved dd2 I stepped out of the fray....Dave is a friend of mine, and has been truly 'soul' to me on knife trades and sales on more occasions than I can count.

That being said...

I think that someone got their wires crossed here and started seeing 'big bucks' on a potential sale, and that's always a mistake.

I'm glad it worked out well for all...

Now, on to my own sorted tale of woe and misery...coming to a GB&U forum thread near you soon... ;)

"Stay tuned kids, I need some advice..."
