Is it just me or Cold Steel knives are general either low quality or overpriced ?

I've found my Cold Steel to be worth the money and then some.

I am happy with the vg san mai and carbon models. The aus8 gets dull kinda quick. I picked up an AK47 from e-bay .The lock did not feel as smooth as some of the others I have ,so I sent it to CS. They sent it back and said it was not one of their knives. It was a perfect replica. I got with the seller,he seemed shocked,said sorry and gave me my money back and told me to keep the knife. If I did not own any other to compare it to I would think CS were cheap.

Outside US customs nail knives, IMO, and you pay hefty prices at retail that make certain knives just to expensive for what you get, and can start looking into knives made by local maker. Today I held the Hold Out folder, first cold steel I kind of like. Just not worth the retail price IMO.

Most knives are not worth the retail...street price is another matter. Just looked up the VG10 Spyderco Endura Wave, retail 109...most people (i think) will agree that it is a good knife but hardly worth 109. Actual price you will pay though is a better comparison...generally <75 or so.

I find that Cold Steel knives are either too low quality or too overpriced to use in battling zombie threads. I prefer Sanrenmus for that task.
