Is it just me or is someone running his mouth a bit too much?

OK, I should elaborate. Maybe I'm just missing sth.
Well anyway I was watching Dual survival, and before it one of Nutnfancy's vids (you can say what you want but he gets more gear than anyone else - how is a different subject thou) and I remember him saying that Discovery wanted him for Dual survival (by his own words) in that vid. Now there is a vid from early November 2009 (High skies series) where he mentions that Discovery called him about a show.

Few hours later I'm watching one of Dave's older vids (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-i3pFPhs9o) where he says that he had a certain discussion on a Dual survival shoot. The vid is dated July 6th. That pretty much gives an over 2 month time frame that disputes the allegations that were made.

So am I missing sth here, or is fancy running his mouth as usual?
 
I'm trying to follow this. 1. What exactly are you asking? 2.Who are you talking about? 3. Why post this is ESEE sub-forum :confused:
 
Maybe Discovery talked to both of them (along with a bunch other I assume) and chose the two you see now on the show (Cody and Dave).

1) he's asking if nutnfancy is making stuff up, or was he really considered for dual survival.

2) he's talking about nutnfancy, the guy from youtube... he says "dude" a lot, and loves cold steel.

3) ummm... because this is the "other-other" w&ss subforum...

i didn't see the nutnfancy vid styx is talking about, but did he actually say he was considered for a part in the show "dual survival", or did he say discovery was talking to him about "a show?"... they produce more than one show at a time.
 
Hmmm. I like nutnfancy, he seems like a straight shooter.

Nutn is 19 years and counting USAF and also works for/heads a Search and Rescu company if I'm not mistaken.
 
I like Nutnfancy...but I wouldn't say he is a survival expert...I could see him in a different type of show, but not a show like Dual Survival. None of his vids show any tips on actual survival, just hiking/backpacking/fishing/gear. Just my .02

I agree. He talks A LOT, goes of topic frequently BUT he has a lot of viable info and techniques (except the WD-40).
 
yeah, he does some good reviews. but he seems more the journalist than the survivalist.
maybe discovery really was considering him. i don't think the show would be as good if it were him and cody, though. they have the right chemistry.
 
Lol Nuttin is in desperate need of a script and an editor. Most of his videos could be cut down in length by half without losing anything.

But he's still better than most of the other online knife reviewers since at least the detail is there, even if he talks way too much.

Agreed on the WD-40 and the Sawvivor isn't all he tends to make it out to be IMO. (Nutn believes in carrying a couple cans of WD40 for blade lubricant for sawing and batoning)

He spent a lot of time in the outdoors with his father before he was killed in a plane crash. Nutn seems to have a hard work ethic and spends a lot of time passing his outdoor skills on to his own kids by spending quality time with them instead of watching ball games on TV.

He was a field tester for LL Bean for several years and is pretty fond of their high end stuff as well as other high end gear, but he also appreciates high value instead of just high price.

Dave Canterbury seems to have gotten his Discovery...discovery from people checking him out on youtube, I would say nutn is right there if not above him in the number of fans/subscribers. I agree Dave is a much better counterweight for Cody. They're like Fred and Ethel. :D

I used to not be a fan of nutnfancy just because he seemed somewhat arrogant at times, wandered off topic too much, was too opinionated and his vids were so LONG.

Now that I've learned a little about the man behind the man, I like his review style and do subscribe to his vids.
 
He carries WD-40 in the bush with him to lube his knife/saw blade when battoning or cutting.
 
Just to stop flaming before it starts and all that - I posted it here because of flaming. Ppl here are down to earth and know how to talk and listen. They don't fall under the fanboy mentality.
AS for Nutn - he has some good points and some points where one wants to take an axe and smack him over the head a couple of times. He isn't an idiot but it's like he refuses to think at times.

Ok, I see. I don't have tv, so I'm not really up on this Dual Survival. I have Cody's book and I like it. Thanks for clarifying.:thumbup:

Someone desperately needs to teach the man how to use an axe.
 
I didn't check the vid you posted but just wanted to add..

I think nutn's reviews are the best hands down, say what you will, It took me a while to get use to him but he the man.

I'm working on a series of Nutn's vids that are comically based.

When I'm done I will post links for your enjoyment.

He's definitely not a fan of the axe. Hard to base axe judgement on a Gerber axe made of mystery steel. I bet if he bought a Wetterlings he'd change his tune.
