Is it time to start taking about the 0600?

Yeah, something like that. I'm sure it's a fantastic knife, and the blade is great, but the aesthetics of the handle just kill it for me.

I hope Kershaw/ZT keeps coming out with some sweet CNC machining designs. I like them

Your taste is you're taste, there is no accounting for it and there is no point in trying to convince someone to like something that doesn't appeal to them.

Having spent a fair bit of time handling and staring closely at an 0600 I can say that with it in your hand, that last thing you are going to be thinking of is a plastic production knife. You look at it in hand and wonder at the fact that it isn't custom picked up off of RJ's table. After talking to RJ, I know he is very happy and excited with the with the way the knife looks.

Whew, I had to take a second.

I've seen those before and I can only hope the actual end result is as stunning as the proto.

I will have one.

I'm still blown away by it when I look at them. Almost hard to imagine someone not liking it, but that just means a better shot at getting one for those of us that do.

Beautiful knife and pics. I am very excited for this one.

Comparing this to a CS is like saying a Ferrari looks and drives like a Geo Metro.

The CF Kai has been getting for these knives is some of the nicest I've ever seen.

Very dense, no voids, nice finished surface texture. Pattern shows up really well (reason it looks textured despite being smooth). Has a very 3D look.

Look at how smooth those edges are. The edges are so soft that it doesn't feel like metal in the hand and I better understand where "melted" when refering to custom finishes comes from. The 600 has some heft to it though and feels quality all around.

From the pictures the blade looked massive and it seems like you have a ton of blade looking at it in hand, but it doesn't have that much more blade than many other knives like a 0560. That it may seem overly large seems to be somewhat of an optical illusion due to the shape of the blade. I for one love a larger blade even if the knife bottoms out in my pocket and a good strong detent for easy flipping and safe tip up carry.

My only complaint is that I don't have more money as KAI is releasing a boat load of great limited number high end knives and I don't have the money to purchase at least one of each. Choosing is killer! I've only preordered one model and been able to budget for one of them. I won't complain about delays as it should make purchasing more possible I hope if any make it past sale of all the preorders.

Sorry, not a fan.....yet. One of the few ZT knives I don't like aesthetically, however, I didn't like the 0777 either until I saw the actual photos. Now I want one.

I am sure it will be a great knife, and I'd like to see one in person, but until then I'll be selling some knives to scrounge up the coin for an 0777. :)

I absolutely wanted an 0600 ever since I first saw it. In fact, when I got my first glimpse of the 0600, 0777, and 0888, I actually fell in love with the 0600 first. Now, the desire to get an 0600 slightly waned as my fervor for the 0777 grew, but now that the 0777 is resting peacefully with the family, and I've got the 0888Max pre-ordered, I desperately want to get an 0600 once again. I've always preferred longer bladed folders in the 3.75" to 4.30" range and I've always been a huge fan of RJ Martin. I know this is a KAI/Kershaw/ZT forum, but I just want to mention, for those who love RJ Martin's ridiculously badass stylings, you can get the Boker Rampage in Boker's really well heat treated 440C for around $75 bucks. Feel like it its one of the best price/quality ratio knives I've ever bought. I love the hollow recurve modified tanto double grind. Its an incredibly fine blade, and is really intimidating for a fixed blade with only like 5" of blade.

Anyway, I can really see why RJ is happy with this collaboration. If the fit and finish are as good as the 0777, then you probably won't be able to tell the difference between the 0600 and a $1500 RJ Martin custom. I love the shape of the blade, and I'm very pleased to see the lockbar insert, as I didn't know that it had one before seeing the pictures. Does anyone know if its going to have KVT? Thats my only complaint about my Volt 3600 ( another RJ Martin design, if I'm correct )......its flipping action is smooth, but just not fast, and it needs a lot more wrist flick than most of my other flippers. I'm actually thinking about replacing the bronze washers with Teflon washers, as I think that will help a bit ( I've been on a bit of a Teflon washer spree, replacing the washers in a bunch of my knives ever since I bought my dad a Mcusta and saw how awesomely it glided open, like it was on slick greased ball bearings, but it was just the smoothness of the washers ) Anyway, that little issue doesn't diminish my love for the 3600 in any way, but I'm still hoping for KVT on the 0600. I'm also really curious to try out this powder metallurgy version of BG-42 steel. I had a BG-42 knife a while back and loved the steel, so this should take an incredible edge.

I know there are a few sites that still have Pay In Full pre-orders available for the 0600, but I haven't taken advantage of them..........yet. I'm trying to make sure that I have money set aside for my 0888Max pre-order since I have no idea when they are going to start shipping and I have to make sure the funds are available in the bank account for when the store charges for it.

Does anyone know the production numbers for the 0600? It would be great if it was more than the 0777. However, as many folks, including myself, in this thread who have indicated their interest in getting the 0600, I haven't seen the slavering masses chomping at the bit like I did for the 0777. So, hopefully they will be a little easier to come by, even if the production is the same or smaller.
