Is it time to start taking about the 0600?

I don't think anyone's bashing the quality of the design or probable greatness of the finished product, some of us just done care for the aesthetics of the handle. Even though there's disagreement on that note, everyone has remained remarkably civil and should be commended.

Hey settle down, its just an opinion. I don't like the designs of the handle, respect my opinion and i'll respect yours.

I do respect peoples opinions. You do not have to like it at all, I can say it's not for me, but don't you think you went a tad over the top with the picture? Honestly, a simple I do not care for the handle would have sufficed.

I agree... reminds me of Cold Steel...

I think if your original post had been a little more specific, I think it would have been received differently. You compared the knife to a much cheaper Cold Steel product, and around these parts thems thar be fightin' words. :) (Not that I have any issue with Cold Steel).

After a little thought I realized that you were more likely saying that the handle texture looked like the Cold Steel, not the handle itself. Otherwise, comparing these two knives would seem silly since they are so radically different.

I probably could have been more clear as well. I do not think the handle shape or knife overall looks like a CS or any other cheap knife, but the texture on the Ti portion of the handles, in the pictures, does.

Again, I have zero doubt that the 0600 will be a fantastic knife, showcasing ZT's usual dedication to top notch design, state of the art processes, and excellent quality control.

Again, this is only my opinion, I do not mean to offend anyone or cast doubt on the knife. My concerns are purely aesthetic, and I do not expect anyone to have the same tastes as I do.

I actually really like the texture. I can see where one may compare it to molded plastic designs with the same pattern (because it is largely the same) but I don't think it detracts at all from the overall ascetics of the knife as a whole.

Put me in the 100% on board camp.

Somehow I don't think ZT's gonna have any problem getting them sold ;)

I'd love to see one in person, but that's very unlikely.

Yes to be more clear.... it has nothing to do with the design or shape of the handle but the only thing I don't like of the 0600 is the the texture. Yes, it does remind me of Cold Steel (not that theres anything wrong with CS) but honestly i'm just some Schmo and my opinion should be regarded very lightly.

Here are some of my blades for some smiles! :)

Unlikely? Hmmm..you never know. We have a passaround forum and sometimes I get boxes of goodies. Some I got quite early (0551, 0560 and the Tilt). You never know what T......err....some really cool guy at Kai USA is going to send me.

Tongue slip? ;)

See, now you'll have me checking the passaround forum multiple times a day :p

Hard for me to say, but I'd have liked smooth contoured handles over textured ones. Regardless, ZT makes the final calls.

A bolster and CF scaled model would be sweet though. I'd suggest that ZT do a Greg Lightfoot or Bob Terzuola collaboration some day.

It has been a while since I handled the 0600, but the combo of the textured Ti and smooth CF felt pretty good.
It is a very large knife as you can see by the comparison photo below, but I have to say it is the smallest feeling large knife I've handled.
It is long and lean, and if it were a yacht, I'd describe it as yar.
It fits nicely in the hand and just does not feel nearly as big as it is. Honestly though, I should probably stop talking it up and reposting pictures, since I want to make sure there will be enough around for me to get one.
