Is it weird that I am tweener'd out?

Seems everyone is still in the honeymoon phase with the new shorts, but personally, I think I'm ready to go back to getting the big boys. I still want a 14 for my smaller tasks, but one can only carry so many knives, and I think I am more comfortable with the full size Beckers. I know it seems unfathomable, but after 2 weeks of playing with the BK16, I still prefer the MkI as a mid-range knife.

What puts me off from buying more is seeing that I can get a BK7 for less than another tweener. I just love the big Beckers more. I might even take a leap of faith and get the BK5. I have been mulling over my stockpile, and debating liquidating a few things to beef up my big Beckers. Maybe even my BHK Machete!

A BK7, BK4, BK5, and a second BK9 would all be worthy additions. A new BK14 with handles and a Godspeed pancake set up for the TDI clip for small stuff would be perfect.

I guess I'm just over the Shorts.

I mean, the 16 can do ANYTHING and everything.

It's my new 1 knife for everything.

I went out and made FUNCTIONAL a lean-to shelter using only the 16.

then I made a fire with ONLY my 16 and a firesteel.

Sorry, no pics for either of these things, I wasn't actually planning on doing it and I didn't have a camera with me.

See, you can do ANYTHING with Short.

Stick with the 16, you will love it, and it will love you in return.

I'm still thrilled with both and still honeymooning with the 15.

Although a Kabar release of the rbk would be appreciated
 
IMO with the combination of a BK-5 and BK-15, I should be able to butcher everything from trout to tyrannosaurus.
 
I love my 7 but I find myself carrying the 17 everyday.... Keeping it black with some Azwelke Kydex...... Stealthy.... Lol
 
The 17 is my main blade now and I carry it all day, so I'm still feeling the love, so much so that I've pretty much quit fondling my 16 at all. I like it that much. I think I'll hold off on the other Tweeners for now and grab a 7 before I get my 15 or FFG16. I've been avoiding the 7 for months now, thinking I've got everything in that size covered, but every time somebody posts pics of the 7, I feel the need to grab one. It just looks good.

And thanks to you, Tanner, that Potbelly on my wish list is hanging over my head, mocking me every day.

That's it, I just decided. I'll order a new Potbelly on Friday and hopefully Tommythewho will have some scales set up for it by then. Yeah, definitely the Potbelly.

Talk to him now, because he's working on some marblewood ones for me. Get him used to making that shape!
 
If I do get another tweener, it'll probably be the 17. If for no other reason than it started out as the ugly duckling, but I'm seeing it become the favorite of everyone that gets it.

But I'm with Biscuit-Boy....Go big or go home!

I guarentee it won't baton the logs I baton with my BK9!

Don't get me wrong...they are great knives! They are just "medium" knives, and I think I prefer "small" and "XL". The MkI is a medium knife with a large handle. Perfect.
 
I don't think it is weird. Then again, I don't own any Beckers. I just prefer larger knives to smaller knives. (I still want a BK9and a Machax but other stuff keeps popping up first)

I'm in the same boat as you are. I am currently looking for a well abused 12 or 14 to rejuvinate. That, combined with my 2 is about all I need. For larger chores, I have a great hawk that LOVES to chop stuff!

lol, I have money, I just want other stuff first. (ZT0560, and quite a few Condors) I will eventually get one, and probably wonder why I didn't get it sooner. ;)

Condors? Do yourself a favor and get one big Becker first....save yourself the hassle of selling the Condors. If you dint like it, you can always flip it quick in the exchange. The big internet retailer named for a south American river has BK7s for like $67...BK2's less than that.
